You know my son is on his way to getting a license. It’s a special time in every teen’s life and today I will be sharing with you car tips and tricks that can work for adults looking to buy, and also for teen drivers while showcasing my son’s dream car.
Car Buying Tips For Teen Drivers
By now you know my son’s dream car is a Ford Mustang , right?
The Mustang GT Coupe Premium has all the attributes teen drivers love about cars, so my son’s choice doesn’t surprise me at all!
Here are some of the Mustang’s features that he loves:
Big, Bold Body
The bright LED lights and the performance rear wing gives the bad boy bold look to this awesome vehicle!
We love the Mustang reflected on the ground, can you see it? That is definitely a social media winner and a teen/millennial favorite!
Gorgeous Interior
Black leather and a sharp look, make this a sports car aficionado heaven! Now, over time that may fade, which is normal for a car that is going to be used a lot, and I have a feeling it will be! So it may be wise for them to check out something similar to a Car Detailing Melbourne business, but one within their location, which means they will then be able to get it looking brand new again.
Handsome Interior
Definitely a top choice for any first time drivers’ wish list!
My son would make up excuses for us to go out for a ride! I was pleasantly surprised how well he fit in it!
I must confess, it was love at first sight for me as well!
My son just kept imagining being behind the wheel!
- Sharp, user-friendly technology
Some of the exterior features
- Potent, throaty optional V8 engine
- Athletic, comfortable handling
The Mustang provides terrific bang-for-your-buck performance and plenty of style.
The V-8 Mustang GT we drove was a 10 speed automatic.
The Premium model includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a leather-trimmed interior, heated and cooled front seats, and an upgraded audio system.
The GT Performance package, which includes Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels wrapped in summer rubber, Torsen limited-slip differential, and unique chassis tuning.
Before your teen can purchase their dream Mustang….
Here Are Some Car Buying Tips For Teen Drivers:
Ask Your Teen What He/She Wants
Always great to start a journey with asking what your teen wants.
That will guide the process and help you and the family figure out the best course of action.
Take He/She Shopping And Test Drive Some Models Within Your Price Range
The most fun part of car shopping is test driving!
My son is 6’8″, so one of our biggest concerns is finding a vehicle which fits him.
Rethink Inexpensive & Think More Towards A Safe And Tech Friendly Vehicle You Can Monitor or Even Stop, Using An App
You can find great reasonably priced newer models to give your teen a safe drive, or even look to sites like invoice pricing to get a good deal.
Size doesn’t mean Safe
Make sure the vehicle is something your teen is comfortable with driving.
An old small vehicle with no modern safety features is not necessarily the best choice. You want to be assured that they’ll be safe in it, plus you’ll need to have it looked over by a mechanic to ensure it is fit for driving. You may want to check out repair and car service companies in your area, similar to Rivercity Motors, for example, so you can take it in as soon as something seems wrong without having to waste your time searching.
We saved one of his shots with the Mustang as a reminder of the awesome experience of having felt, touched, and checked out his dream car, before his driving adventure starts!

Sherry
That is one gorgeous car. I know both my husband and son would love to drive it. I would too. My son will be getting his driver’s permit next summer. These are great tips.
Heather
Oh goodness. I’ll be worrying about this in just 2 years. I am dreading it already.
Kelly
This would be such an incredible first car! I love that you mention taking into account the size of the driver. I’m only 5’8 and I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve driven a car and felt like the roof was resting on my head.

Love the tips! One of the important things is to ASK your kiddo what they think, envision, desire. Then, form a partnership to make the best deal a win-win situation.

Great tips, thanks for sharing! We will be looking at cars for my oldest next year and it scares me to death and makes me proud at the same time.

Your son has great taste in cars. I just sold my Orange Mustang GT convertible 5 weeks ago. We moved from AZ to FL and I didn’t want to drive it across the country, so I sold it to a teenage guy. It was his dream car. I sure did love that car and now I’m trying to decide what to buy in its place.

The Ford Mustang is a beautiful car! I loved the features you wrote about. This is great information for parents of teens.

I think most boys dream of a Mustang. I know my sister has an older, classic one she loves. I think today’s styles are better.

I have a teen who is into cars. He is already planning what car he will buy and he is only 12.

Now this is a cool car and I can see why your son liked it so much. Starting off those early driving days with your teen can be fun as long as you’re safe!
