I learned about the Embrace Ambition Campaign by the Tory Burch Foundation and it touched me deeply, since I have been discriminated against, talked about and cut out of some mean girls’ circles with the stigma of being ambitious.
Some of those circles claim to embrace “sister power”, yet they have discriminated against me – the go-getter, the seeker, the hard worker …
“you don’t have those numbers, where did you get those stats?”- Network owner
“We unfortunately didn’t include you as a speaker … did you see the caliber of our speakers?” – Conference organizer
“You know, you are known as somebody who is not a giver – I’m just trying to help you by telling you.” – somebody whom all I did was help.
Unfortunately the “sister power” for many extends as far as putting their friends up on stage, as inviting themselves to events, and hiring people who they think are deserving, not really the people who truly deserve to be there …
As for me, I will not apologize for having goals, for being ambitious, for owning my story and sharing my struggles here. Through joining this movement, I hope to gather your support to share and embrace such a great movement!
I love the video which launches the campaign, especially because it has men in it!

I took the pledge, created my own photo and will order my shirt! You can join too by visiting:
Join me to use your voice to share this great campaign, so that the new generation will see a new future ahead of them. A future where being ambitious is sexy, where you can share your victories and where you are not judged by self promoting; where silence is no longer a sign of strength and your voice will be used to build your business and tell your own story!
How do you feel about ambition?
