This post is not sponsored, but I received the Muse Headband for review which I gladly incorporated into my tips, since it’s a product I’ve recently come to love! As usual, all opinions are my own.
If you know me, you know I’m all about being active and getting things done, but a few years ago, more precisely 2002, I learned that when you slow down your mind, you are more prone to connect with the energy that fuels your body and connects all living things. That place in your brain which is not easily accessed is where you connect with your real purpose, your real thoughts and emotions, not stained by fears, doubt and negative feelings. The kind of experience a regular meditator has, is also one that is experienced by many people who choose the path of enthogeons, although that process is much more intense and focused. Entheogenic brews that are used in indigenous cultures like the Amazonian tribes in South America, are said to be powerful and can help heal a lot of deep-seated trauma by bringing it to the surface through a sort of purging process. If interested, you can learn more about such entheogenic brews on websites like https://www.soul-herbs.com/, and go into deeper exploration. However, as a start, meditation techniques can prove to be beneficial in many of the same ways.
How It All Started
After reading the book The Secret, I came across many thinkers and motivational speakers, such as Jack Canfield and John Assaraf. They all had something in common, they meditated in the morning, before they started their day, as a way to connect with the true energy and purpose to guide them to achieve their goals and dreams and live the life that at that point in time, only existed in their dreams!
Later on, Oprah also shared about the importance of meditation in her life and even had a guided series on her website to help others tap into such a great source of growth and enlightenment.
Why I meditate
For me, meditation is a way to calm my soul, rest my fears and connect me with the true Me. The person beneath the doubts, the problems, the daily noise and chaos of my busy life! Agreed, it can sometimes be hard to connect with that peace within, because the mind is full of thoughts and our nervous system often can’t calm itself. We are so stressed on a daily basis but often don’t realize it. Sometimes, using a vagus stimulation device could help the nervous system become calmer and thus get you to a mindful state more easily. What’s more, just like meditation, vagus nerve stimulation is also said to help improve overall well-being, both physical and mental.
Where I Meditate
I started by taking 15 seconds in bed early in the morning or later at night. My meditation + prayer increased in time and changed location, when I remodeled my office. I bought a meditation pillow, a comfortable yet, sturdy suede pillow.
When the weather is nice, I like going on my deck, I find an empty corner and meditate outside, listening to the sounds of birds and early morning whispers.
I also love preparing the room, cleansing it with an incense and light a candle sometimes as well.
More recently I was introduced to the Muse Headband. A powerful tool, which not only gave me the elements that were missing in my daily practice, but also gave me the “excuse” to take it to the next level, making my practice longer and a better experience.
I knew I was home, when I downloaded the app and on the first screen I was at the beach! My happy place! I knew it was the right tool for me! This is what it looks like on your phone. You just close your eyes and let yourself get immersed in this whole new universe! It’s life changing.
You can find more about the Muse by going to: www.choosemuse.com. You can also check out the app which is available for Apple and Android & Amazon Products.
Here are 3 out of the many benefits I can share with you that meditation does for me:
Benefits of Meditation
Meditation reduces stress
It improves concentration
It encourages a healthy lifestyle
I hope my post encourages you to get started! Trust me, when I started, I could only calm my mind 15/20 second at a time! So, not being able to be still, is super normal!
I can’t tell you enough how much I’ve grown as a human being and a business owner since I’ve started to practice meditation daily.
Do you meditate? Can’t wait to hear what you think, as usual, give us a Trendy Shout!

We have woods in our backyard, and I find it to be a very peaceful place to sit, relax, and focus. I’ve said many times to my husband that I’d like to get a mat and just sit out there and take deep breaths and pray.

Now I know why. Thanks for this wonderful information! I’ll keep this in mind.

As a Christian I love that, when God calls us to meditate to find relaxation and peace, we do so by filling our minds with His words,, His wonders and His majesty. It’s amazing how often The Bible mentions meditation:
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Psalm 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 119:48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments, Which I love; And I will meditate on Your statutes.
Psalm 145:5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
Psalm 119:15-16 I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.

Jeanette
I have never tried to meditate before. I probably should learn how to sit quietly because I’m always busy. Meditation probably would help me relax too.
Candy
Mediation is something I have never tried or really even thought about doing. I do take time to sit on my front porch and watch deer, turkeys and all kids of wildlife go by. Taking in the blue sky and beautiful landscape.
