You know this Latina is always on the go, speaking, meeting clients, attending events in different States. Hubby is my partner in those long drives with mi carro and the fact that he is driving, allows me to get ready and bella on the go!
I lost count of the times that I fixed my hair and put make up on while he was driving to have that fresh look and show my best Trendy Latina self!
Today, I will be sharing my best tips with you! Women on the go, who leave the house with no make up but need to arrive spotless, ready to play!
On The Go Make Up Tips
Tip 1: Have a good container
I don’t use my regular make up bag in the car, because I need easy access without seeing all my products spilled. So I chose an open container with high sides!
Tip 2: Don’t leave make up in the car
Do you know that weather changes affect the longevity and texture of your make up? Well, leaving make up in a hot day or in freezing weather will damage the products and affect the way they look and feel on your face. I once had a lipstick that melted in the car, messing up my car seat! You really don’t want that to happen to you! I carry my make up bag in and out or leave it in the car if we’re going to park in a parking garage, like we do in NYC!
Tip 3: Mirror
We often travel with our small car to NY or in car loaners from brands when it’s a longer trip. Our car doesn’t have lights in the mirror, making it hard for me to see the way my make up looks. So if I’m using that car, I bring a mirror that has lights in it, but the best option is when you have a car with built in lights.
Tip 4: Make up
I often use easy to apply products, basically gel and cream texture, which are easy to use and hard to spill. Powder, contouring and that cat eye, are out of question when the car is in movement and you’re trying to apply make up! Once I tried to work on a cat eye while going to NYC and a bump made a literal JOKER face out of me!!! Not funny when you’re heading to a fashion event!
Trust me, you don’t want to see a pic of me when these things happen! A true Latina Fashion Blogger nightmare!
Tip 5: Timing
I always check the timing and exits before we have to stop at the parking spot or garage, so I time myself to have the make up ready before we get there! For example – NYC, I start applying it on exit 12 of the turnpike, so by exit 16, which is our exit ( 30 minutes), I will be ready to go. Nothing worse than you need to leave the car in a parking garage but you still have to finish your make up!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my tips! After all the final product is all that matters and when we Latinas want to look our best, having a great system will help to avoid some of the mistakes previously mentioned!
After talking about all the driving and make up tips, I also want to share with you how important it is to maintain your car in top shape. Without our vehicles, I would not be able to attend events and meetings which are crucial to developing my blogging business!
Every time we get on the road, we put our lives in danger, if we don’t take care of that vehicle which is carrying us!
So now the…..
Most important Tip:
Hubby and I NEVER EVER MISS our oil change, maintenance visits, filter and tires are also checked out very often.
We love going to our local Walmart to the Auto Aisle and picking out the best oil to keep our vehicles running and performing the way they are supposed to! After all, my car should make my life easier!
The Oil I use:
Here are a few reasons why Quaker State® Advanced Durability™ Motor Oil is my go to Oil:
- Quaker State® is a great oil at a great price
- It’s #1 in Mexico and South America!
- Quaker State® gives you more durability! My absolute favorite!
The thousands of miles of stop-and-go traffic, trips, idling, and extreme temperatures changes are the true tests of toughness. These are exactly the tests that we put Quaker State® Advanced Durability™ Motor Oil through. Quaker State® Advanced Durability™ has proven it delivers twice the protection throughout its life.
Whether you travel often as I do or not, keeping your car in top shape, regardless of how old or expensive your vehicle is, should be your top priority!

Hello Claudia, Along with beauty, the makeup is also very important for good looks. I always carry makeup kit in the car and use it at signal stop or parking areas. These tips are great to keep in mind.

I’m not going to admit how many times I put make up in the car. These are good ones.
Valery
lol you are speaking my language with the cat eye in the car comment! I tried that once…epic fail! Awesome tips and you just reminded me I need to get my oil changed!
Sarah
Awesome tips! With four kids at home I don’t always get time to do my makeup. I think it’s important to make time for yourself and your car haha.
Dawn Lopez
I melted lipstick in my best purse one time when I left it all in the hot car. I’m going to be sure to never do that again! I enjoyed reading your post and will use some of the tips you mentioned.
Jonna
Great tips! I never like taking too much time for my make up routine.
Aimee Smith
Keeping your car in tip top shape is so important! I am always late on my oil changes and I need to be better about it!
Jennifer
You know, I never really thought about the container but it is important. I just love the nice open top container that you have. I need to find one of those!
Alicia
Great tips! I try to apply all my makeup at home because I hate the lighting in my van. I wish it had nice, bright lights to use!
Chelley @ A is For Adelaide
These are all great tips!!! I usually don’t apply while moving… but at red lights and always warn hubby to tell me BEFORE he takes his foot off the brake!
Lisa Favre
It’s about time I invest in a good makeup case. The one I have right now is falling apart!
Melissa
I am totally going to invest in a mirror with a light in it! That is a genius tip for applying makeup on the go!! And I completely agree with you that timing is everything!
Jenn Gerlach
The timing tip is a great idea but how do you manage your make up while the car is moving. I would be poking my eyeballs out.
Kathy
These are all great tips. I don’t really wear makeup much though. If I do, it’s already applied, and I don’t usually apply much after. I think these are great tips for those that wear more makeup though.
Danielle
I really need to clean the mirror on my car’s sun visor. I have no idea how, but it has gotten so dirty. I can’t see anything in it, so it definitely puts a damper on applying makeup.
Tara
Bringing a mirror with its own lighting is a great tip. Nothing worse than trying to apply makeup with very little light.
Amy Desrosiers
I have learned from a bad experience that makeup and the car do not mix! I have melted way too many things from the heat.
Jeanette
Great tips! I am extremely guilty of leaving it in the car and usually when I get back it is melted and disgusting.
Tess
I need to get on the ball with doing makeup on the go. Its good to remember to get your oil changed as well!
