The Holidays are near! Did Halloween leave you without motivation to continue on the right track? Are you thinking about just forgetting about a healthy lifestyle until the New Year or are you already feeling guilty for the appetizers, sauces, alcohol, and desserts that come with the joy of the holiday season?
It’s a no-brainer that staying fit and losing weight are important things to consider, regardless of whether the holiday season is here or not. Yet, we still fall into unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle choices, especially during the holiday season. Maybe if we knew how our everyday eating habits and lifestyle choices affected our bodies on a cellular level, we might be able to take better steps to avoid falling prey to all those temptations around us. What if I told you that the sugar we consume while enjoying our well awaited holiday desserts, appetizers, and booze can harm our skin? That’s right, sugar ages you. So does excessive fat, lack of exercise, and dehydration. It causes the accumulation of zombie cells (check out what are zombie cells) that promote aging in the body. By aging, I mean not just our physical health, but also our mental faculties. Hence, it is vital that starting this holiday season, and every holiday season that follows, we adhere to a healthy diet and lifestyle.
So if you can have a guilt-free holiday season, well and good. But I have learned that pre-holiday steps are essential to keep you on track without bringing that guilty feeling that will spoil the happy times with friends and family.
There are many helpful resources that can help people gain weight as well as protecting their mental health and a few of these are found on websites like https://www.ihgtc.com/ showing that help is out there if you look for it.
So, after sitting with some friends over lunch and hearing them complain about the same guilt and confusion before the holidays, I’ve decided to share my secrets to enjoying every moment and keeping the pounds off!
1 – Water, your best friend. Water will fill you up, hydrate your body and help you eat less. How much? At least six 8oz glasses per day. I drink more than that, but trust me, when I started, I hated water. It was a process, because I knew it would help me reach my goals.
2 – 1 meal at a time. Try to substitute one meal for a smoothie or a green juice. Losing weight the right way, will help you feel empowered and make better choices when the time comes for you to choose between the veggies and dip and the cheese quiche with 100o calories. Here is the link to some smoothie and super low fat recipes, the queso dip from Damn Delicious is one of my favorites, make sure to visit their blog for more ideas!
3 – Friends in crime. Invite some friends and choose an accountability partner. Studies show that people who set goals and have friends involved have higher positive result rates. Keep reminding each other that being healthier is something you have in common, besides being best friends.
4 – Find an exercise buddy. Exercising with a partner before the holidays will help you stay on track, give you that extra energy boost, will motivate you to get into that gorgeous dress, and will help you both discuss that endless to-do list and help each other with great ideas for gifts and entertaining. Additionally, if you need a much effective body transformation method, consider getting a teslaformer machine treatment that works similar to exercise by triggering motoric nerves and excites muscle contraction.
5 – Buy that dress! Go Holiday shopping now, buy that beautiful outfit, a little tight and hang it where you can see, every time you get dressed. It will remind you that following some simple steps is the easiest way to look gorgeous, fit in that dress and be ready to leave your routine and enjoy the parties, because you prepared for it.
6 – If you are hosting the main holiday parties like Thanksgiving and Christmas, good news! You’re in control! Choose a menu which matches your goals and offers a variety of lower fat options or perhaps even some low carb snack foods with beautiful presentation! Check out my Pinterest Board with great ideas!

7 – Relax. Studies also show that people who are stressed about losing weight end up not losing or if they lose they will gain back soon thereafter.
Remember Holidays are about family, friends, getting together and enjoying this time of the year! Make the food your ally, not your enemy. I can’t wait to hear your posts/pictures on our page https://www.facebook.com/trendylatina, telling me how happy and gorgeous you looked and so that you can say: YES!!!! To that Holiday cupcake!
Note: Diet and exercise should be prescribed by a physician. You should not start a diet or exercise regimen without consulting one.
