What To Know About A Week Away:
THIS MUSICAL SERIES shares a group of teens as they go to a summer camp at Camp Aweegaway— a Christian Camp filled with surprises, adventures, friendship lessons, and self-discovery.
A Week Away: The Series offers a tender space for those burdened by doubt and pain to explore the possibility of hope and the power of finding a “new family”.
The story follows a foster teen who is brought to a church camp.
The young man is determined to resist what he sees & feels as the “empty” promises of faith.
You follow the journey where rejection leads to introspection, and the barriers tumble and fall…a newly expressed need for belonging and the deep, but gradual feeling that leads to healing. A choice which must be individually made.
After watching some episodes, I want to share that A Week Away: The Series is not only fun & engaging, it is also safe for family viewing, and honors faith-based principles without being a ‘lesson in Christianity.’
What I love about it:
Great Music & Dance! It made this Latina want to get up and move! Sooo much fun!
Very Inspiring and redemptive topics and messages, such as the amazing healing power of friends and family!
The Series also shares the struggles many teens and adults deal with! As a mother of a young man, I can relate to so many struggles my son has been through!
It deals with Questions of Purpose and Reason in the walk of life, no matter where you are in your faith journey or if you haven’t even started!
Redemption is presented as a choice, and the path that leads to it, is unveiled as an individual journey for us all!
A Week Away: The Series is a great story about a young man’s struggle to embrace faith while dealing with his traumatic past.
