I’ve had the recipe for Brigadeiros/Brazilian Truffles for a long time here, but I’ve decided to give you an updated easy version, hoping you will try it at your home this Christmas!
Brazilian Truffles – Brigadeiros
I remember waiting for my mom to make them every Christmas and offering to help her to sneak a few in, before the holidays!
Some of my fondest holiday memories in Brazil have Brigadeiros in them, so today, I’m sharing my updated version, my house, to yours!
Brigadeiros Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cans of condensed milk
4 tbsp of butter (softened)
3 tbsp of powdered cocoa
5 small candy canes crushed or sprinkles
Preparation:
Step 1
Place condensed milk, butter and cocoa in a pot on low heat and vigorously stir until it does not stick to the pot anymore and it is boiling as well.
Tip: You can make it without the cocoa and have white brigadeiros, or put a hint of peppermint to give it a new flavor. The sky is the limit!
Step 2
Use butter to cover a plate and place the mixture on the plate to cool off for 30 mins.
Step 3
Make the balls, I like making them middle size to get more out of my mixture.
Tip – use butter on your hands and wash them to start over, when your hand has the brigadeiro mixture stuck on them.
Step 4
Place crushed candy canes or any holiday sprinkles on a plate and roll the balls until they are completely covered.
Step 5
Place the Brazilian Truffles on miniature paper cupcake holders. Make sure you buy the small ones.
You will love it!
It will be a new favorite at the dessert table!
