Last Weekend opened up our deck and backyard for unlimited possibilities of gathering friends and family to share summer memories together!
Every year, we host different parties and small get-togethers and we love having our house full of people whom we enjoy sharing our life with!
But a great summer party starts with organization and cleaning ahead of time, so you are able to enjoy the party, as much as your guests do!
For me, it always starts with cleaning, even when you’re preparing the food!
Cleaning Tips For Easy Fun Summer Entertainment
#1 Prep Time
I start pre-cutting vegetables, fruits, anything that will go on the grill or on salads, the night before and I place them in an air-tight container to avoid losing their freshness.
I place meat to marinade and chicken or steak with spices in ziplock containers, easily disposable to save cleaning time and space in the kitchen.
By making the mess the night before, I cut cleaning time, since a lot of it was also done the night before.
#2 Kitchen Cleaning Before The Party
I make sure by 2 hours before the party, all the prep time is done and the kitchen is clean. Here are my best kept tips for a spotless kitchen:
- Start with the countertops, make sure you are using a product which doesn’t harm your countertops. My countertops are 7 years old and they look brand new!
- Clean any stainless steel appliances.
- If there are any leaking pipes in the kitchen, contact a plumbing company to fix them.
- Don’t forget the floors and corners.
- After all the cutting and washing, make sure you run the garbage disposal – an often forgotten hero in our kitchens.
I love giving the garbage disposal some extra cleaning time to ensure the freshness, especially after cutting meats and vegetables. Of course, constant use means that eventually, your garage disposal will break down, and you’ll find yourself looking for good plumbers in Memphis or in your local area. It is something that will inevitably happen, but you can keep that time from coming even quicker by taking care of your garbage disposal. I use affresh Disposal Cleaner! - TURN ON hot water to a low flow
- PLACE 1 tablet in the disposal
- TURN ON disposal for 15-30 seconds. Foam may rise.
- TURN OFF disposal
- RINSE away foam and any residue down the drain

#3 Planning Your Space
If you are entertaining outdoors, why not concentrate your efforts on that space? If you have limited time to clean up, make sure your bathrooms are clean and the transit area (in and out) is neat and organized. Leave your major home clean up for another time, so you won’t feel overwhelmed right before the party. Alternatively, you can rely on commercial cleaning services from places like Pressure Washing Houston to have your house looking new in no time. Traditional cleaning tasks necessitate a significant amount of time, energy, and elbow grease. There’s no need to scrub and strain to get rid of stubborn debris when you use pressure washing. Anyway, I personally place toilette bowl cleaners in the bathrooms that will be used by guests, as a way to keep the high traffic bathrooms fresh all day!
I also leave Moisturizer and SPF lotion and bug spray in each bathroom, in case guests forget to bring them, they can help themselves. Aside from all of the cleaning tips, make sure to remove all of the trash and separate the metal waste. Rather than dumping everything in the skip bin, you can sell the metal items by using the skip bin services of waste metal recycling Bishop Auckland. It takes less energy to convert scrap metal into a new product than it does to harvest new resources. By doing this, you can contribute to the conservation of natural resources.

It’s funny – I’ve lived in four houses and I’ve never had a garbage disposal. I’ve heard stories about them but I’ve never personally experienced one.
