I’ve started hiking more actively after a back injury in February. Best Decision EVER! Today I’m excited to share the First Day Hikes initiative.
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am for bringing my love of the outdoors to the next level!
Hiking is a great way to kick off the New Year, don’t you think?
Fresh air and an invigorating hike make for a great combination on the first day of the year!
First Day Hikes
You can do it from any part of the country!
Check out the list of States participating HERE: First Hikes.
On New Year’s Day, America’s State Parks will once again be celebrating with First Day Hike.
These hikes provide a means for individuals and families to welcome the coming year in the outdoors, exercising and connecting with nature. For many it has become a tradition.
Last year nearly 85,000 people rang in the New Year, collectively hiking over 176,366 miles throughout the country on the guided hikes.
Numerous others hiked state park trails throughout the day.
Our Hiking in New Jersey Group is taking it to next level and decided to share our badge, encouraging others to join us!
While all New Jersey State Parks have CANCELLED their organized First Day Hikes for 2021, here are a few organized ones you should check it out:

Hiking with friends is always fun. Hiking by yourself feels like a different kind of soul-searching adventure. It’s really a good way to contemplate and start the year.

Beautiful and powerful. I do not have local hiking, but do a lot of walking and jogging. What a way to heal back!
