You know how much I have travelled this year, even abroad! My job as an influencer puts me in a position to travel to different events and conferences; so unexpected events are always on my mind. I’ve also got to make sure that I have the correct currencies wherever I am by checking the latest forecasts to see what my exchange rate may be so I have enough to travel with, and for any other expenses that may pop up.
Sometimes I have minutes to catch a connection or I will miss an important event at my destination!
A flight cancelled means the first day of an important conference missed or a presentation I was invited to give cancelled! Not even to mention lost luggage which would be a disaster, given I’m a fashion blogger!!!
Last year I lost $2,000 with a popular travel site, because I booked my flights to Brazil and did not have insurance when our passport delays prevented us from traveling on the scheduled date. After that, I knew I had to take action and be protected; after all, these things happen all the time! Even though it wasn’t my fault, they did not want to know.
My hectic travel schedule also made me rethink the way I booked flights and planned trips after all, traveling can be stressful, especially now, around the holidays. Canceled flights are just one of the many misadventures that I am forced to endure in commercial flights. It is worth mentioning that with increasing numbers of travelers crowded into airports and with limited facilities, commercial flights have almost become unbearable for me. That is why, like other people who are frequent flyers; have a tight schedule; or have tons of luggage with them, I had also started looking elsewhere for alternatives. Luckily, fellow mates of mine advised me to book air charter services. They apparently had an adventure-holiday plan on getting the SUP rentals in San Diego, California and chartered a flight there! Chartering have many advantages including traveling with more comfort, avoiding typical airport problems, avoiding the lengthy layovers. Not to forget the biggest benefit: I can choose who to fly with unlike in a commercial flight where I can be crammed inside the plane with total strangers.
Also, having good travel insurance can prevent and remediate any bumps during your travel!
That’s why I want to share my new partnership with Allianz Global Assistance, who is here to make traveling easier from their travel insurance and free mobile app to their tips and interesting articles on traveling!
Allianz Global Assistance is an asset to everyone, like me, who’s planning to travel for business, who’s traveling this holiday and all through the year!
Allianz Global Assistance (the world leader in travel insurance, assistance, and personal services) cares about your travel needs and your satisfaction from their services!
You know I was invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Event, which is a land and sea event in February starting in Florida and ending with a Cruise Trip! Allianz was the first thought on my mind when I started to plan the trip!
Allianz Global Assistance is there to help all travelers enjoy their experiences.
I know I will not leave my home for another trip without being covered! So I’ve decided to give you my five best tips to navigate this holiday season without hiccups:
Tip 1:
Plan ahead; check your schedule and flights which will allow you to meet your commitments at your destination. If you are ; A) travelling in a large group; B) short on time; or C) have tons of luggage, it would be wise to rent your own private jet.
Tip 2:
It’s always a good idea to allow extra time to get to the airport before a trip during the holidays, and pack carry-on luggage if possible to avoid lost packages and baggage fees and delays that can lead to missed connections. I always do that!
Tip 3:
Travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance will reimburse prepaid deposits and expenses if you have to cancel your trip for an illness or injury, or other unexpected situation covered by your policy, giving you peace of mind when you travel. You never know!! While you can file a lawsuit with a lawyer (learn more) if the injury wasn’t your fault, this is a complicated process and insurance is the simpler option in making sure you don’t end up with a huge medical bill.
Tip 4:
Use technology to keep you updated on flight updates and changes. I always download the airline app, another great idea is to have the Allianz App (https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/travelsmart.htm) on the phone!
Tip 5:
A stress free holiday season starts with packing ahead and making sure you purchase gifts ahead of time, so all you have to do is travel!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my tips! They have saved me this year and will help me this Holiday Season! If I can leave you with just one tip, it’s to consider adding travel insurance to your checklist!
