As soon as I turned 19, I set a goal: to start taking care of my skin so I would look good for as long as I could – without resorting to surgical procedures. In all these years, I’ve learned that beauty comes from within. It may sound cliché, but it’s true. Stress, fear, unhappiness, and depression can affect your skin. So does your diet and fitness routine, or lack thereof…
I truly believe beauty is ageless. I’ve made my life mission to share how I live to inspire others to do the same, even if they live a super busy lifestyle like mine! So, let’s get started. Here’s my approach to skin:
Flip the Inner Beauty Switch
Daily meditation
Meditation can help with issues like stress, fear, and anxiety. All of those things can show up in the skin. I meditate every morning and work on calming my strong Latina personality to find my path and my inner peace. Others may prefer to use alternative methods of dealing with such issues. An example would be to take help from an anxiety supplement that can help them handle such issues.
A good night’s sleep
One clinical trial found that sleep deprivation can cause to skin aging! Having a good sleeping habit helps my skin tremendously. I can see the difference in my skin when I’m out of my usual routine, like when I’m traveling a lot. Therefore, it is recommended that when you face sleep problems, instead of trying all the unhealthy ways to deal with them, you should seek out professional help and solve the problem as soon as possible. Good skin and a good night’s sleep are a win-win for everyone!
Exercise
Moderate exercise three to five days a week can help rejuvenate the skin. Sometimes I don’t have a lot of time to workout, so 20 minutes on my treadmill will do.
A balanced diet
I make sure to make smart choices for health and for my skin. I’ll give up that second glass of wine (alcohol has been linked to a variety of skin disorders), make dessert only once a month (sugar isn’t helping your collagen), and never fry anything (bad fats are known to cause inflammation and red bumps).
My secret supplement
One secret to healthy skin is healthy cells. Check out this little secret I’m going to share with you: TRU NIAGEN
TRU NIAGEN is a groundbreaking supplement that provides your cells with the vital nutrient they need to increase NAD levels.
Aging is a major factor in your overall health. Over time, sun exposure, excessive food, alcohol consumption, and jetting between time zones are just a few of the factors that can depress your cellular metabolism and health. These “stressors” can lower your levels of NAD, a critical coenzyme in maintaining the health of your cells. NAD is crucial to healthy cell function.
I want to share with you a few of my favorite moments from an interview with Kym Douglas, beauty and lifestyle expert, who has been taking Tru Niagen and had significant results:
TN: Have you noticed any physical changes, or what have you noticed since you‘ve aged?
KD: The day I turned 40 it was like a light switch turned off. All of a sudden, I wasn’t reading things as easily. It was a little bit more of, oh wait, what does that say? I found that my mental focus was a little bit off, or things that I used to be able to remember at a moment’s notice took me a little longer…I was not quite as on it like I used to be.
KD: You’re supposed to stay the same forever from 20 to 80, and then all of a sudden, you’re in your 80s. I don’t think that’s true anymore. I feel like us baby boomers will not go down without a fight. Especially with women, when you feel good you want to look good. There’s no reason to slow down if you can find the right supplements and take good care of yourself. Several days ago, one of my closest friends suggested that I check out bong online. She said that it could filter and cool the smoke derived from weed and that these products could improve my sleep cycle. Anyway, as I have an extreme liking for Tru Niagen, I’ll stick to it for the time being. I don’t have that fogginess if I went to a dinner party the night before, was out a little late, or had some wine. When I take Tru Niagen, I feel like I’m on my game again.
TN: There are so many misconceptions about women with aging. What do you find that one of the biggest misconceptions are?
KD: Whether you live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, or Detroit, Michigan, or Brentwood, California, I feel like for women after the age of 40 to 45, there’s this unspoken rule. Maybe you’re not going to be found as attractive, maybe you’re not as desired in the workforce, in the fashion industry, or in your friendship circles. Maybe you’re not going to be asked to parties or gatherings, or to speak at your child’s school. I don’t think we should follow along those lines. I think that as you get older you have so much more experience. I’ve done it, I’ve gotten this behind me, I can help share this with you. When you’re in your 40’s that should be when you’re lifted up and desired even more.
The most important thing is that you work towards your ideal of beauty and your goals for your own skin. But I would love to see you join me to prove that age is nothing but a number and what you do and use on your skin matters and reflects on the final outcome.
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on ageless beauty and how you take care of your own skin.
As usual, give us a Trendy Shout!

I have an app to remind me to meditate! It really does help! Self care is so important.

I have tried to meditate many times now, and I fall asleep every single time! I have not heard of Tru Niagen before now. I do take other supplements, but need to look into this one now too!

These are really helpful! Such a great goal for women!

Sounds like you are really on the right track to inner beauty and overall good health. I love doing yoga and meditation to start the day and am a believer in supplements for maximum benefits.

I could definitely use a little more sleep since they haven’t added more hours to a day yet. I don’t really have a skin care routine, I have oily skin that’s kept things looking rather young.
Gingermommy
This is great! I have been thinking about meditation lately

We just bought a new mattress so we could sleep better. Made all the difference in the world!

Sleep and exercise is where I am lacking. I’m in my early 40s now and I am noticing little things about my skin that I would like to change.

The look of your skin is affected by so many factors. I need to implement more exercise into my routine.
Jennifer
I’m so bad to my skin on a regular basis and always promise I’m going to be better, but nothing ever changes. This post was the wake up call that I needed. I think some supplements could really help.
Dawn Lopez
I probably don’t put as much thought into self-care as I should. I think taking a supplement would be an easy way to start some new healthier habits.
Mama to 6 Blessings
You are right when I hit 40 everything changed. My eye, gravity took effect, etc. Definitely sounds like a great routine you have!

I’m thinking about taking a supplement – this one sounds like something I totally need. Great list- reminds me to take better care of myself!
Amy
Wow, I need to tell my mom about this! She is all about the healthier supplements as she ages! She is now 51!
Stacie
I actually really need to improve my skin-care game. Right now, I just use a moisturizer and an occasional mask.
