When I was invited to join the group of amazing bloggers to share all the great news about improvements, renovation and rebuilding of the Jersey shore after the hurricane, I took it as a great opportunity to use social media and my blogs to do something good and share the love I have for the State I now call home!
I never thought engaging in the process with 40+ amazing women would take me to a place where I would rethink my feelings for this country when initially invited to write a post about it; my weightloss issues, when dealing with the certainty that I will be photographed in my bathing suit and so much more!
It has been an amazing journey so far, and I have learned so much, so early!
I wanted to share how the project impacted my weight loss battle! In 2011, my husband’s job took a huge toll on our finances and stress with that and my business, brought me 20 unwanted pounds! I tried all 2012 to lose those pounds and the old mindset and lack of time to exercise and energy to do calorie count and menu planning brought me almost no weight loss. I started 2013 with a new mindset, joined WW online, started including exercise when I had the opportunity and I lost almost 10 pounds!
Jersey Love gave me a reason to speed up the process, a deadline – June 2013, to get back to my 2011 body and my prestress weight! I added more veggies and fruits to my diet, more water, cut the sugar and alcohol and for the past two weeks, I have exercised at least 4 times a week!
I wanted to share some of the things that are working:
- I drink 10-12 glasses of water a day
- I eat a small portion of nuts every day
- I eat 3- 4 portions of fruits, at least one apple a day
- I always have a good breakfast and drink a glass water before I eat in the morning
I lost two pounds last week alone! Bought a gorgeous bikini at Target and will work hard in the upcoming months to get back in shape – knowing it is more a state of mind, than anything else! I have the peace to accept and love myself as I am! I feel pretty and embrace my curves while looking forward to staring at newer, slimmer curves soon! I will be posting my progress and journey. This is post one of a series of posts where I will be sharing my secrets to loving my body back to its former size before attending the JerseyLove event! I wanted to celebrate the two pounds recently lost with this post, hope you enjoyed it!
Wanted to share a pic of how I looked in 2011:

Congrats on your progress! WW really works well, I mean, if you actually open the app and all that. (grin) I’m sure you’ll look great in that new bikini come June!
