Having taught kids all ages was such a joy in my life!
I feel now it’s time to give back!
I’m nominating my son’s teacher Mrs. Deborah Delrosario to win! She has dedicated her whole life to teaching kids and giving them a foundation to life long learning skills!
My son still remembers all the history facts and stories she told kids in class many years ago!
I know she, like many other teachers, teaching in a non State Funded school, has many out of pocket expenses.
Did you know that:
- The average amount teachers spend without getting reimbursed is $511. One in four teachers spends over $750 on supplies.
- A quarter of teachers say their schools don’t provide any funds at all for classroom supplies.
- Only 25 percent of students are sent to school with all or most of what’s requested on back-to-school supply lists given to their parents.
