Spring is here and we’re staying at home with all that is going, so it doesn’t really feel like Spring, right? Today I’m bringing you some hope and what I’m doing to keep healthy with my Healthy Spring Habits.
Healthy Spring Habits
Take a Walk
I know most of the States have a shelter in place order, but most States will also allow you to take a walk in your neighborhood, on a local trail. As long as you’re practicing social distancing.
We choose places which are larger and have a history of not being crowded. So far we have been able to visit 4 parks and one trail which had little to no people around at all!
This is the park we walked through last week:
Workout or Run
Being indoors with no gym around is conducive to a lazy couch attitude, right?
Wrong!
I have been trying out some online classes and will be sharing more about those later, but I’m here to tell you, you can workout at home with no specific equipment and/or go for a run or start training for that marathon you’ve always wanted to run!
Don’t forget to smell the roses/flowers along the way!
Healthy Spring Habits – Drinks
Water and healthy drinks are my best friends these days.
Instead of sitting at my home office to work with a sugary drink, I choose to only keep healthy beverages at home. I am going to try Hemp drinks soon so I will let you know my thoughts as I have heard amazing things! But for now, I stick to sparkling water, diet drinks and…
I’m in love with Positive Beverage!
It offers the perfect combination of Potassium electrolytes, 110% of all needed vitamins + Calcium boost in a zero calorie, thirst-quenching experience, great for the entire family!
You can check out more about Positive Beverage HERE.
We have completely cleaned out our pantry of soda, just keeping healthy beverages on hand.
My son is still working out every day, so we specifically looked for beverages with vitamins and electrolytes!
Healthy Eating
I’ve changed our menu to include more grilling and roasted vegetables and salads.
Can’t wait to share some of my grilling recipes, homemade rubs and veggies included in every single meal!
I’ve noticed that one thing they never run out of at the grocery stores is produce.
So why not take advantage of the warmer season and bring more salads, indoor grilling and feel good food into our household?
Spring Cleaning
We started a few home projects, which I will be sharing more with you later.
If you’re at home, some of you can’t go to work, so why not tackle those projects you never have the time to get to? If you are really stuck with the bigger projects then you can use professionals for things like full house carpet cleaning or speak to Gutter Cleaning Atlanta companies, as well as local ones, to see how they can help you with clogged guttering that has been building up over time. The possibilities during this time are pretty much endless.
We’ve started:
- Kitchen Painting and Ceiling repair
- Pantry cleaning, sorted expired items to be discarded and will be painting and replacing shelving.
- Heading to clean my home gym, which has been overloaded with boxes, products and old books from my foreign language school.
- The plan is to purge, sell, donate, discard items and reclaim that room, dividing it into a home studio and home gym.
Whislt most of these projects can be quite easily completed by me, they might be tiring, and so if there were other larger cleaning projects, such as cleaning the floor and carpets, then I might consider using professional carpet cleaners or getting some extra assistance to help as it could make the jobs easier, and potentially cut down on time and get the house into shape ready for spring.
Some of the above tasks made me do things like climbing on ladders and platforms (need be, find out more here about mobile platforms that can be used for these projects) and took lots of time and effort. Even so, I can’t wait to see the projects finished and get started on the outside!

I’ve worked from home for over 10 years, have homeschooled on and off for the last 5 years and have exercised regularly for the last 2 years, but this pandemic has totally thrown me for a loop. I need to get back to exercising regularly and I need to stop eating junk! Thanks for sharing these good tips!

These are all wonderful ideas. My daughters and I have done a lot of bike rides lately. It’s starting to get nice out, and they love bike riding.
