I’m sure you remember my back injury early 2020 and that I decided to walk my way out, besides a few painful chiro sessions. Hiking more was a much unexpected surprise and taking my love for the outdoors will grow even more in 2021. Here’s to Hiking in 2021.
Hiking in 2021
In order to hike and live our healthiest year ever, I’ve decided to grab a few items to help make our hiking experience even better!
I am going to invest in a good pair of boots and possibly hiking shoes in the Spring.
After my injury out of nowhere, I want to protect my back and not risk falling, so good waterproof boots with a great grip are the first item on my list.
TOUGHER THAN CARBON FIBER – TrailBuddy Trekking Poles’ tough aluminum can withstand pressure and impact better than carbon fiber – crucial if hiking on rocky terrain or supporting heavier weight
To fully enjoy the outdoors, I need comfortable and warm clothing to take me to new trails!
I’m also loving my new gear from Athleta! You can check it out here!
It’s important to have a light coat, that lets you move, but keeps you warm. If you like to smoke, you can also bring weed or alcohol along with you, which might keep you warm. Rather than carrying a weed packet and a rolling joint, you can fetch a disposable weed vape pen. If you’re interested, you can visit the getkush website, which sells a range of CBD products. Disposable vape pens are ideal for those people, who are constantly on the go or who merely want a less permanent vaping option.
Anyway, I love my Landsend Coat, they have it many different colors and some are on sale now!
It is short above the hips and the red color will prevent from getting dirty, it will also make me visible in case, something happen, not that I’m anticipating or thinking about that.
Apart from sturdy hiking gear, you might need smart tools that can help you survive in the wild. On that note, you can search for a free walking planner app that can provide correct hiking routes. You don’t want to get lost in the woods, do you? Well, that can be a nightmare. Having said that, I need to build up to I need to build up to be able to hike rocks and harder trails, so I’m using a new great hiking app that I’m loving, called ALL TRAILS!
You can check it out HERE.
I will be trying other tools and will be sharing them here with you!
Join A Hiking Tribe
I’ve decided a few months ago, when I started hiking, to build a community with like-minded people who would inspire each other to try new trails and keep doing it. Going on hiking with a group of people who like adventure can be considered a good idea. They may also help in locating a perfect place for hiking like Crystal Cove State Park (learn more here https://beachcoast.com/crystal-cove-state-park/) in California. An individual may not know about every place in the world for hiking hence, forming a group of hikers might be a wiser decision.
If you would like to join us, the group is focused in Hiking in New Jersey, but we share many tips and encouragement that will help anybody at any location.
Just Get Started
Overthinking? Need better shoes? Don’t!
Just get started! Pick an easy local trail, grab your sneakers, check the weather and get started!
Before you go, here is my personal checklist before I go on a trail:
Check the weather using a trustworthy app. I feel Google and Alexa always give me a lower temperature than what it really is outside. If you don’t know which app to use, there is a list of the 12 best ones on the Cell Phone Deal website which you can check out prior to your trip.
Grab another app to check the route ahead of time to see if it’s a trail you can hike, look for level and elevation.
Dress appropriately: a nice coat, sneakers, a hat and hand warmers in the winter are a must for me!
Grab a buddy! Hiking with a partner is always safer and more fun!
Bring a phone with full battery for pics and for safety.
Pack a fanny pack or light backpack with snacks and water.
Set some goals, they will inspire you to do more!
What do you think of my tips and my goals for hiking in 2021?
Can’t wait to hear what you think?
As usual, give me a Trendy Shout!
