We have been facing storms, actually two snow storms in less than two months and 60-70 degree weather in between. Which took a huge toll on my skin!
Harsh winter weather can leave skin dry and irritated, but the right skincare routine can reveal healthy-looking skin and it starts with great skin care and choosing the right product.
.
So I’ve decided to share my five best kept secret tips to having radiant skin this winter with you:
My first and most important tip! I alternate the products I use at night, after using Dove Beauty Bar between cleanser, exfoliant, just a face wash product and a product with glycolic acid.
Cleaning my face every night is a habit I have kept since I was 19 and never go to bed without it!
As the #1 Dermatologist recommended bar, Dove White Beauty Bar is hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and mild enough for use on both the face and body; it contains DEFI technology, a unique blend of mild cleansers, and 1⁄4 moisturizing cream for soft, smooth and radiant skin.
As you know, soap strips skin of its essential nutrients, however Dove Beauty Bar is not soap and it is proven to be more gentle and milder.
Water is my power weapon, I keep a bottle on my desk, always bring a bottle when I drive and definitely when I work out, so 64 oz or more is my daily goal!
I looked for tips online and in books and eating healthy was the common denominator in all the articles in regards to having beautiful looking skin. Fruits were the common denominator as antioxidants and health boosts.
I just had to be careful with portions since fruits carry a lot of sugar.
I am not crazy about just sitting and eating fruits, so I create a low fat cheese, grapes and nuts plate for a snack, shared a few weeks ago on my Instagram:
I also make smoothies and have been experimenting and will be sharing the recipes later.
Making different parfait recipes is also a hobby now as well, my son loves helping me with new combinations! This one has blueberries, chopped walnuts, low fat coconut yogurt and a drizzle of honey:
This one has low fat greek plain yogurt, walnuts, dried berries and a drizzle of honey:
The good fruit habit also prevents that sugar craving, which always happens mid morning or at night.
Again, I know it seems obvious, but do you know that stress is a huge cause of wrinkles on your face, acne and other skin issues?
It is! So I incorporated meditation, 5 minutes every day – it’s all I do. I also organize my day with priorities, so the to-do list doesn’t stress nor overwhelm me. There are a few ways that you can stop stress from taking over, these can be combined with other methods like meditation, for example. Some may turn to things like marijuana from websites similar to weed smart or one that ships to their area, so they can calm their overactive mind, they may also look into natural supplementation if they want something a little bit lighter but with mirroring effects. CBD, for example, can be the lighter side of marijuana, and it can come in a variety of products for a whole manner of uses. There are pure shaka CBD bath bombs that can be great for people to reduce their stress without having to consume anything that they don’t want to, as well as CBD oils, gummies, etc. for those who do want to take something but not as strong.
Whichever way you calm yourself down and reduce that stress, remember to always do what is best for you as you’ll need to manage day by day.
You heard me! Obsessing with looking younger or having a radiant skin will make you unhappy and give you new wrinkles, which defeats the purpose!!!
So enjoy your life – after all, beauty comes from within!
Aim to live a healthier life, not only for your skin, but for you!!!
A final gift to you; a song that speaks to my heart, that beauty comes from within and yes, taking care of yourself is important. Using amazing allies, such as the Dove Beauty Bar, and other amazing tools to help you in that journey …. well, you will have to watch the video to find out and see the gorgeous glow on my skin without any make up on:
Thought you would like to see my before and after shot, before dry, dull skin, after, glowing, beautiful skin:

These are all great tips! I’ve realized the importance of taking care of my skin now that I’ve gotten older. Water, plenty of sleep and a good diet are essential!
Tracy @ Ascending Butterfly
The ‘reducing stress’ part has been quite a challenge lately that’s for sure! And so has the getting enough rest part, Travel and Jet Lag are not conducive to rest 🙂
Katarina

Hi there Claudia those are some great tips there. Of course every lady out there wants to have that lively skin all through, whether its winter or summer. Water is the most essential and one that nobody who cares about their skin should really miss out, then comes the favorite part the yummies. I love those tasties that you have shared. Will try getting some.
Thanks for sharing.

These are some great tips. I always make sure to drink plenty of water. That’s about the only thing I drink too. My family also uses Dove soap. It’s the only soap we’ll use.

I use dove too and love it. Lots of sleep, ecxercise and good diet are the keys.

Thank you for sharing these great ways to have better looking skin. Winter here up north is always so brutal on my skin. I will have to get some Dove.

Winter is very harsh on the skin and the body! To have great products at the ready is awesome, but it doesn’t end there. We need to maintain a healthy diet and great meal plan!

This weather has been terrible on my skin as well. I am doing all the tips you suggested for sure

These are all great tips for having radiant skin in the winter. I use the Dove body wash on my face but haven’t tried the bar. Drinking water is so very important and will keep the wrinkles away. Less stress will keep the wrinkles away too.

Dove is so fantastic. I love that you also added healthy diet. I love salads.

My skin in the Winter is insanely dry and irritable. I know I need to drink more water for many reasons but this gives me another.

Winter can be harsh on the skin. Thankfully, we’ve a lot of skin products such as Dove to help us.

I don’t usually have a bad time with my skin, but this winter it’s soooo dry. For some reason the backs of my hands are all scaly and i need some deeper lotion I think.

My skin dries out a LOT in the winter so I have to stay moisturized. Dove however is what I use with my daughter who has very sensitive skin.
Gloria @ Homemade & Yummy
Those are all helpful tips for sure. My mom used that brand all the time. Winter is the worst time of year for you skin!!
Star Traci
Great list! I am bad about the water and the stress. As I am getting older, I need to work harder to take care of my skin.

I drink about 10 cups of water a day (on days that I don’t work out – more on workout days) and eat a great diet. Most people never guess I am actually in my 40s.
Terri Beavers
These are all great tips. My daughter recently recommended the Dove when I was complaining about my dry skin. I’m going to have to get some and use all of your tips .

These are great tips. I know my skin dries out the minute the temperature starts to drop. I need to buy Dove again!

Winter can be so harsh on my skin, even down here in the south! I find that I have to use a much heavier moisturizer and give some skin extra TLC.
Jennifer
I have to admit, I am nearly not as vigilant with my before bed routine as I should be. And I tend to use the same products for weeks. Thanks for this great information!

I need to get better about taking care of my skin. I have never had issues with it, but I just hit 30 and realizing that youth is no longer in my favor.

These are some excellent tips – the one I need to focus on the most is “Reduce Stress” – although I have taken some significant steps in that direction this week and I am so proud of doing so!
Robin Rue (@massholemommy)
I definitely have to moisturize all winter long. My skin gets so dry!
