I was invited to drive the 2024 Hyundai Kona in Charleston, but as usual, these opinions are my own.
Hyundai Kona 2024: Fun & Tech Comes Standard
We drove the 2024 Hyundai Kona around Charleston and nearby towns.
I want to start by sharing that having a chance to experience the 2024 Kona at different locations, gave me the confidence to give you the full picture of a trendy, spacious, tech advanced & fun to drive vehicle.
Navigating Charleston
The well thought-out design gave us the structure to navigate the busy cobblestone roads with confidence and comfort.
Nothing better than a car which has the right size to fit in a tight city spot, but is also spacious inside, giving you the best of both worlds!

Love that the Kona 2024 is not only fun to drive, but also easy to navigate city life!
A stop at Rainbow Row Street in Charleston is a must stop, if you visit Charleston, so it was great checking the colorful historic homes, shops and bubbly life around it, it out for sure!
While visiting Charleston, a trip to the Historic Charleston City Market for some souvenirs is always a great idea. Especially when you have all the trunk space that’s needed!
The hands-free power lift gate feature comes in handy for sure!
Charleston’s Southern Charm
Washington Square
Driving through the city with all the history and beautiful details, makes Charleston an absolute favorite travel spot for me!
I had a chance to walk around and enjoy the Southern Charm and history of the city as well, such a great experience!
Horse & Carriage Tours
I saw a lot of horse & carriage tours, while driving downtown, which is another great way to explore the city as well.
Fun Historic Homes’ Skeleton Decor
Halloween and Charleston are basically synonyms!
I loved seeing through my walk and drive by, some great historic homes with their skeleton decor. And in case you’re wondering, yes, that is a Charleston thing on Halloween!
If you come to Charleston on Halloween, you might want to take a Charleston Ghost Tour! The perfect time of year to do it, right?
Best Coffee In Town
Coffee & Fall go hand in hand, so I stopped at the Mud House for a pumpkin spiced latte. This would later fit perfectly in the Kona’s well designed center console cup holder.
Mud house is comprised of specialty cafes, a roasting company, and a geisha coffee farm on Volcan Baru in Panama.
They know coffee from the moment it goes into the ground until it lands in the cup.
Visit them in Charlottesville and Charleston.
One of the many great features of the Kona 2024 is that the Interior cabin gives you a lot of storage space with a lot of practical storage spaces.
Let’s Hit The Road With The 2024 HYUNDAI KONA
We had a chance to drive the 2024 Hyundai Kona N Line and the Limited Trims!
Time to hit the road and have a chance to enjoy a hands-on experience of changes made in the new design, aerodynamics and one of my absolute favorites, the driver focused oriented feel!
The 12.3” integrated digital display, sound system, Apple Car Play and Android Auto set the tone for an awesome road trip!
Multiple ports helped us stay connected keeping the focus on what matters, the road ahead.
The driver focused oriented feel gave me the confidence to navigate new destinations, while feeling in charge of what is ahead!
The cold and later warm weather gave me a chance to enjoy both the heated and cooling seats features on the front seats.
The Active grill shutters, typically found on EV vehicles, was a well thought design feature to minimize road, wind and powertrain noises!
Because the only thing you want to hear on your next road trip if you’re like me, is the fun music blasting or a great conversation with family and friends.
Kona Trendy Features
Loved the Drive modes and Smartsense safety features and the front side and rear contour warnings!
Great for city drives where bikes, people and cars present minute by minute challenges to your daily drive.
The safety features also make road trips and weekend drives safer as well.
The side view cameras were definitely a favorite!
Hyundai Pay and Bluelink (all included with no expiration complimentary) + wifi hotspot are available as well.
We had a chance to also experience the Kona Limited 1.6 turbo with Black Alcantara seating and premium features but what I loved the most is that even on the N Line Trim a lot of the features mentioned come standard.
Pricing
At first, the 2024 Kona will come in SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited trim levels.
Prices range from the mid-$20,000s to the mid-$30,000s.
Great value and features for pricing starting at 31,985 for the two models we drove – The 2024 Hyundai Kona N Line and The Limited.
Fuel Efficiency
The fuel-economy estimate for the Kona N Line is 28 mpg with FWD and 26 mpg with AWD.
Adventure Ready
You follow my hiking life and our Hiking In New Jersey Group, so you also know hiking over the weekend is how I roll!
So I was super excited to drive through a dirt road and have a chance to explore that type of drive with the Kona 2024 Limited.
The bumps and uneven road were the perfect terrain to experience the fun and yet capable drive the Kona offers.
The hiking lovers will have a blast with this one, for sure!
Trendy Or Not?
I think it is a great idea to place the shifter on the steering wheel to possibly save space, but the only thing I want to mention is that it took me a bit to get used to the steering–column-mounted electronic joystick transmission shifter.
Due to my height, it felt like it was hiding behind the steering wheel sometimes, not easily accessible, but I got used to it, by the end of the drive.

I was considering getting a Hyundai Kona but it was out of my budget when I was looking for a car. I ended up getting a Honda Civic instead. But I do love all the bells and whistles that come in the Kona.
