We had driven the Hyundai Santa Cruz in Palo Alto and hubby has said ever since, he would love to own one. Last week we experienced it at our home and we’re excited to share Hyundai Santa Cruz: Diverse & Ready For Anything.
I received the Hyundai Santa Cruz as a media loan, but all opinions and experiences are my own.
Hyundai Santa Cruz: Diverse & Ready For Anything
We had a few Brazilian friends ask: is it a SUV or a Truck? Well, the answer is more complicated than it seems.
I would say the Santa Cruz navigates seamlessly through the SUV, Truck spectrum.
Hyundai labeled it as a SAV, a Sport Adventure Vehicle!
Let’s start by looking at some features that makes it so unique:
Design
Futuristic lines, a truck coming out of outerspace is a description I’ve heard from a friend who came to check the vehicle out!
Trunk Bed
Spacious but compact is my description of the Santa Cruz.
It is compact enough to fit in a tight city parking space and spacious in the interior with a bed that will fit 10′ kayaks with an extension set up and surf boards as well.
Ready To Go Off-Road
The locking all wheel drive mode gives the Santa Cruz the rugged capability to hit the dirt trails and take you hiking pretty much anywhere.
Storage
The multiple storage compartments give you the space and privacy to store items and the storage in the bed will hold your muddy boots after that long hike, without getting any of that inside the vehicle.
You can also fit your catch of the day or ice and beverages for that tailgating party!
Fuel Efficient
We were able to get 24 mpg in the city and 27+ mpg on the highway with the Santa Cruz.
Premium Features
Love some of the premium features on the vehicle with a price point of $40320.
The cooling and heated seats and steering wheel are definitely one of my favorites!
I also love the drive modes: normal, sport, smart and snow to give you a great ride no matter what!
Comfortable Ride – Road Trip Ready
We took the Hyundai Santa Cruz on two road trips and it not only performed well but was also a comfortable and safe drive with the special safety features, such as the side view turning camera.
Holiday Trip To The Jersey Shore
We headed to Cape May, NJ to enjoy Christmas Lights, Hot Cocoa and Christmas Joy at Congress Hall in Cape May.
Such a great way to celebrate the season! Hubby and I walked around, had some hot cocoa and sat by the fire!
Parking was hard, but the Santa Cruz fit right in a tight spot which makes it in my opinion a great city ride for that reason among others!
Caroling At A Bible Study Group
The Santa Cruz was the talk of the event afterwards, when members of the group we went to sing and play carols, were asking about it in the parking lot!
I just love when a vehicle becomes an organic topic for conversation and we get to share what we love about it in IRL.
Road Trip To Farm Land In NJ
We went to visit friends for lunch in a farm area and the 20 acres invited me to drive around and check the off-road features of the Santa Cruz!
It passed the test with flying colors, love the hill descent and differential lock options and how nice it rode in the dirt/farm roads.
NYC
I was invited by Netflix to attend a screening in NYC. We went and took the Santa Cruz for that road trip as well.
NYC during the holidays is always a treat! I loved taking the Santa Cruz there. I believe it is a great city vehicle for busy on the go drivers!
The compact size helped us find parking in a packed parking garage in the city! If we had a full size truck, that would never have happened!
My friend came with us and truly enjoyed the ride as well!

You can also save it for later:

Loving the Hyundai Santa Cruz—diversity meets adventure seamlessly!

I don’t think we get this car here (yet) but it is a very sexy looking pickup! We had a Hyundai minivan for years and loved the brand.
Beth
I love the look of the Santa Cruz and the extra space it offers without being too big. It almost reminds me a little of the El Camino. I mean that in the best way possible!

I haven’t seen many Santa Cruz’s on the road. They just might not be so popular in our area. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I’ve owned several Hyundais and never had a bad experience. But right now I’m not looking to upgrade anytime soon. I bought a 2013 Honda civic almost two years ago. My plan is to pay it off and give it to my son if I can afford a new car at that time. My civic only has 87k on it right now.

Reading about your personal experience with the Hyundai Santa Cruz has piqued my interest even more! The fusion of SUV and truck elements into a Sport Adventure Vehicle sounds like a game-changer!

Hyundai is one of my favorite brand of cars. The cars are always so nice and great for multi-purpose. This one is especially beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

The Hyundai Santa Cruz looks gorgeous! I love that it’s a hybrid between a truck and an SUV!
LisaLisa
The Hyundai Santa Cruz is a very nice vehicle, that color is so different, and I love the inside. That front grill is really cool, I’m loving all your pictures, and it looks like you both had a great time.
Marysa
Cute car! I have several friends that have a Santa Cruz, and I have the Santa Fe. Wonderful line of cars!

I was looking at this car the other day. I like how it is both a truck and a SUV.

I love all those premium features at that low price point! Good looking vehicle too!
