I’m very excited to announce our new partnership with T-Mobile and that we will be sharing some awesome news with you in the upcoming weeks! Today I’m sharing all about the Changemaker Challenge.

You know I am all about innovation and making changes that make our lives better! 

When I serve small businesses with coaching and social media management, I always share my vision with them about how we can make changes for a better tomorrow, using technology and tools we have available! 

I’m also promoting change when I work with the local non-profit Wholesome Riches, which helps bridge the gap between local Hispanic Families in regards to hunger and resources to make their lives better in so many ways. 

Using my skills and knowledge to help the cause and our community of Latinos is my way of giving back! It is my Changemaker mission! 

The T-Mobile Foundation and Ashoka are inviting you to do the same!

The fourth Changemaker Challenge and Family Changemaker Challenge, is a nationwide contest to engage and support young innovators who are creating solutions for positive change in their communities. Isn’t that awesome? 

Here are some Changemaker Challenge Details

I love seeing how T-Mobile is incredibly inspired by today’s youth, who are constantly challenging the status quo and standing up for what they believe. They are the REAL changemakers! 

For the 2022 Changemaker Challenge, they are looking for bold ideas from kids 13-18 years old in three categories that have an eye towards creating more connected, inclusive and sustainable communities.  Here are the categories:

Digital Empowerment

Solutions that help narrow down the digital divide, enabling access for all to the digital age and the skills needed to thrive in it. 

Equity In Action 

Ideas for removing barriers and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive in an inclusive society. 

Thriving Planet

Ideas to help improve the health of our planet

The Changemaker Challenge is open to teens ages 13 to 18 located in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT – May 2022

T-Mobile, T-Mobile Foundation and Ashoka will select a total of top 15 teams (5 per category), in addition to one Family Changemaker Challenge recipient.

The teams behind the winning projects will receive $5,000 each, and an all-expenses paid trip to T-Mobile’s headquarters in Bellevue, Wash. for the Changemaker Lab in the last week of July (pending CDC recommendations).  

All winning teams will be paired with at least one T-Mobile mentor who will provide support and counsel in a chosen area of expertise both leading up to and after the Changemaker Lab. 

Additionally – from the top 15 Changemaker teams, one top project from each of the three categories will receive an additional $5,000 seed funding (for a total of $10,000), and the opportunity to pitch their projects to senior leadership team members of T-Mobile and the T-Mobile Foundation during the Changemaker Lab. 

During the lab, finalists will receive mentorship, skills training, and networking opportunities to help put their ideas into action, as well as compete for additional funding to help turn their ideas into reality. You can find more information about this year’s Changemaker Challenge HERE

CHANGEMAKER LAB & GRAND PRIZE PHASE 

Summer 2022: T-Mobile will host the Changemaker Lab at its Bellevue, Wash. headquarters. During this three-day workshop, teams will receive mentorship and guidance from T-Mobile employees, skills training from Ashoka and networking opportunities with other amazing teams. 

Among the three category finalists, one grand prize winner will receive an additional

$5,000 in seed funding (for a total of $15,000) and 1:1 coaching with T-Mobile mentors to take their venture to the next level.

The grand prize winner will be announced on the last day of the Changemaker Lab, and they will formally announce via press release the following week.
