You know I’m always about being health conscious and I’m also all about doing things which are good for our environment. It is important that all of us have a part to play in a healthy environment, not just on an individual level but with big businesses too, for example, using companies like RSB Environmental for sustainable construction consulting is a key part of this change to our environment. In our daily pursuit to do our part, we have taken steps which I want to share with you, to ensure our children and grand children will have resources to live a comfortable and healthy life!
We drive a hybrid car, we use energy saving light bulbs and appliances, we limit our dish washing time and cycles, we also limit our printing volume, those along with some other steps we take each day to help the environment. But where we really made sure we had a plan in place was when it comes to laundry, which was the biggest waste of resources in our home!
This is why for us, it started with laundry:
Steps to Save the Environment, one load at a time
We own an energy star washer and dryer, which guarantees your best energy performance – saving energy and money in your pocket.
We wash our clothes in cold water which is not only more gentle on the fabric, but also better for the environment.
We use Tide PODS™ Plus Downy , that can dissolve in any temperature of water!
By taking the steps above, we’re preserving our clothes’ life, saving money and resources as well.
These are some of the things I love about Tide PODS Plus Downy:
-
- The laundry detergent pods offer the Tide clean you love, now with Downy Fabric Protect. To enjoy great cleaning results, use 4-in-1 laundry pods to clean, brighten, fight stains and protect your clothes every time you do laundry. It is the first detergent pod that helps transform the washing machine into a safe place that cleans, conditions and protects the clothing you love.
- Tide PODS works with both high efficiency (HE) and standard washers. Its HE Turbo technology provides 6x the cleaning power in half the time*.
*stain removal of 1 Tide PODS pac vs. 6 doses of leading bargain brand liquid detergent, base variant - Cleans and conditions in 1 step
Are you concerned about the environment? What do you do to preserve the world we live in?
Let us know what you think! As usual, give us a Trendy Shout!
*Please keep out of reach of children!
I have heard a lot of good things about the Tide pods. I have never personally tried it but it seems to do the job.
I’ve never tried using Tidde Pods but I sure would love to give it a try since it sounds like such a great product.
I’m so spoiled when it comes to laundry detergent. A few years ago, I was an extreme couponer. I have since reformed my ways, but I still have TON of Tide PODs left over. So thankful because they really are the best!
I never tried this before but it sounds like a great product. We wash our cloths on cold run and dry them on the air rack instead of a dryer (in summer).
We actually wash my clothes in cold water. I dry the clothes by hanging them to conserve energy. Thanks for sharing how you are playing a part in saving our environment.
I love Tide. I use their detergent and I love it. I also use cold water because I dont want to pay extra for electricity.
We wash everything on cold too! It is not only better for the environment but you clothes too, so double bonus there!
Great tips. I’ve been using Tide pods for a while. Love the quality!
It’s really important to research about the things that you can do to help save the environment. Lifestyle changes, no matter how little can really help!
I haven’t tried Tide pods yet but I have been wanting to so I will pick up one next time I am at the store. Recycling empty containers is one of the many ways we help preserve the earth.
I always wash with cold water, glad to know it’s the recommended. I love the scent of Tide detergents, have to try the pods one of these days! 🙂
I’ve always been very conscious of only purchasing energy efficient appliances. Our washing machine is very energy efficient, if only I could convince my husband to use the shortest wash cycle instead of the longest one!
I am also concern about the environment and do my part. I am interested on that product but I haven’t seen it here.
I’ve been using Tide Pods for quite some time now and I really love it! So easy to use and makes our clothes really clean. 😀
Love Tide Pods. I am using this for years now. But I have to admit that I’m not washing my clothes in cold water.
This is a good way to save money and save Mother Earth as well. I should take this practice into consideration.
I started using Tide Pods about a year ago. They are so much more convenient to use.
I wash with cold water when I can. It not only helps the environment but saves money too.
I love the Tide Pods. My laundry looks great no matter what my son tries to do to his clothes. 😉
My mother uses pods and swears they’re the best. We cloth diaper, so economically, these wouldn’t be a good choice for us with the amount of detergent we use for a family of seven. But I LOVE when I get samples of them and can use them on my sheets or a load of my own clothes. We’re an Original Tide family through and through, but the pods just seem to smell better.
We always look for the energy saving emblem when we buy new electronics like this. We also LOVE Tide and have for many years!
This is an awesome idea. I’m a big environmentalist as well. Def practicing this.

I have been washing our clothes in cold water for years now. Tide is the only detergent I have found to get the clothes nice and clean.
I love using Tide Pods! As a family that makes a lot of laundry, it feels good to do something for the environment by using them!
I wash in cold as much as possible also. Most of my kids clothes I line dry too!
I have always loved the scent of Tide detergents. I wash most of our laundry on cold, with the exception of my youngest son’s clothes.
It’s definitely important for us to do our part when it comes to conservation. Going with cold water is a good idea. Those Tide pods have been working well for us!
I love being able to wash and take it easy on the environment. I love even more that laundry detergents are taking steps to do the same!
We wash all of our laundry by hand, so pods are not an option for us. Everyone I know who uses Tide Pods loved them. My favorite tip for laundry is that baking soda whitens better than any stain remover on the market, including Oxi-Clean!
I have not tired using Tide Pods before but seems like they are lovely and any way I can help save the planet I am all ears
I would love to try these Tide Pods. I am sure they are great. I have always liked Tide products. However, my husband is allergic to something in Tide, so I can’t use it.
Tide has been our go to choice for laundry detergent. Ever since I came to learn about these Tide Pods with Downy, I was sold. Never looked at any other brand since then. Good for my clothes, good for the environment.
With a five-year-old that’s harder on his clothes than anything anyone can imagine, unneeded these tips! Thanks!
I always try to wash my .clothes in 30 degrees but washing in cold water is not something I had thought of! Good shout x
I just bought these Tide pods. I can’t wait to try them. I also use the liquid Tide as well.
Ohh now these sound like a great way to make sure your washing is not only clean but cared for! I’m not sure if we can get them here, but I am going to have to look out for them.
I LOVE using Tide® PODS™ Plus Downy! No one else in my family likes using PODS but I find them to be so much easier to use.
Thanks for the tips! I currently use Tide Pods and they are AMAZING! So convenient!
I am always looking for a new way to save energy and protect the environment or reduce my carbon footprint. I will remember Tide pods and look for them at the supermarket.
I have tried these before and they are so convenient. I try to do most of my wash on cold too. It saves so much more energy than what you think!
I love this! We try to limit our energy consumption and our impact on the environment. It’s good for our finances and for the earth. Everyone wins!
I’m a HUGE fan of living an eco-friendly lifestyle, but I’ve never before thought about changing my laundry cycles! Thanks for the information, I’ll be sure to implement it!
I love Tide and I love the Pods. I will have to try this one with the downy in it,Im sure it smells great. I need to try cold water instead of steaming hot. Thanks for sharing the tips!
We live in the country, I hang clothes on the line to dry, make my own natural soaps. We live off our land so we have to give back everyday.
I have never used Tide Pods before but if they work as well as you say they work it’s definitely worth giving them a try.
Great tips! I also use Tide a lot and love it! I also wash mostly in cold and most of our items are energy star.
I only use Tide pods! They’re my favorite and once my husband bought a cheaper pod and I was not happy. It’s always been Tide for me!
My sister uses Tide Pods and swears by them. I keep meaning to pick some up so I can use them, too 🙂
