People often ask me for a list of places to visit around Philly. Things to do while in the Philadelphia area. During the holidays and all winter long, there’s so much to do in the Philadelphia area! Today I’m sharing some of my Favorite Things To Do Around Philly.
Some of the locations invited us to visit as guests and products shared were gifts and/or a part of a sponsored campaign, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
Things To Do Around Philly
Elfreth’s Alley
How about we start with one of absolute hidden gems in Philly: The Elfreth’s Alley.
Elfreth’s Alley is a historic street in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dating to 1703.
The street has 32 houses, built between 1703 and 1836. The Elfreth’s Alley Museum is located at #124 and 126.
Super Instagrammable and it is like a walk in history! You’ll enjoy the doors, colors and cobblestone!
I love the different doors and colors! It’s like a rainbow alley!
What you should know: no parking is an issue. Look for a parking garage in the area, park and walk. The side streets are narrow and super busy, so you likely won’t find nearby free parking.
Art Museum Of Philadelphia
Do you think Rocky is the only one who deserves to head up? No!
The Art Museum Steps In Philly are a must do/visit!
Ben Franklin Parkway
A fusion of cultural influences – The Benjamin Franklin Parkway is considered the American Champs-Elysees, the flags symbolize how welcoming Philadelphia is to new cultural aspects, which are embedded in the city’s own nature .
Center City
Sounds like a cliché, but please don’t leave Philly without at least driving by Center City!
The same happens here, busy traffic, hard to find a parking spot! I’ve never really stopped and walked near by!
If you are visiting Philly with kids, you might want to check out this post about Philly with kids as well.
Philly is known for amazing food from all over the world, but the most kept secret is a lunch spot on Passayunk Ave, a Brazilian snack place called Kouklet Bakery.
Lunch at Kouklet Bakery
Besides their famous bolo de rolo/cake rolls, my absolute favorite, they have all the Brazilians Snacks you can think of.
I’ve been gifted a few samples this week, so I wanted to share them with you!
Parking on the street is free, but they don’t have a place for you to eat in, so plan to buy your snack/lunch and walk to eat somewhere nearby.
Not in Philly? You can order their goodies by clicking HERE and have them shipped to your home!
Yuletide At Devon Event

My plan is to head there this week!

Best Gelato & Chocolate Gifts At Venchi
Right outside Philly, at the King Of Prussia Mall is the best Gelato Store I’ve ever been invited to!
The chocolate is amazing and the gelato is made in house!
Perfect time to stop by while doing some holiday shopping!
You can check out more HERE.
Longwood Gardens
Just about 30 mins from Philly is the beautiful Longwood Gardens, which is now dressed for Christmas with thousands of beautiful plants, flowers and Christmas Trees.
It is a must visit around Philly, especially during the holidays!
You can check out my visit last year and some highlights HERE.
Not ready to check out all these places?

I can’t wait to hear what you think about Things To Do Around Philly during the holidays!

I’ve never had the opportunity to go to Philly when I lived in NC. I’m in Texas now, so it would be a very long drive or flight. But I’d love to see Longwood Gardens in person though.

It seems like Philadelphia also has similarities with Melbourne in terms of those old buildings and pavements. I would love to visit this town in the future when I finally have my Australian passport!
