The Angry Birds Movie opens in theaters in May! I was extremely excited to have been invited by Kidzvuz and Sony to attend the press junket for the movie and meet the producers and actors involved in this amazing video game turned into a movie!
Meeting the producers gave me a completely new perspective of the movie, understanding that the process of making the movie took over 4 years, focusing on a handful of characters, showing their personalities to the public and relationships formed through the movie as well.
John Cohen shared with me that Heitor Pereira, a Brazilian composer was the movie composer, so I instantly knew I would love the movie!
A huge highlight for me was meeting Josh Gad, who plays Chuck in the movie and said:
“When I was approached about it, I actually said no – for many reasons, the most significant of which was I did Olaf [in Frozen] and I don’t want to play another animated character, especially right now. The producer was like ‘Just let me kind of pitch out this movie to you’ and did this reel for me of what he was thinking about, and it was this 30-minute visual pitch and it blew my socks off. ”
Also loved hearing that he went to school with Josh Groban, who left early, but his parents told him he needed to finish his education before pursuing acting.
His charisma and great personality can be seen on our picture below! I’m personally very interested in watching the movie, just to watch his performance!
Next was Matilda!
Maya Rudolf, who also shared her warm and friendly personality, leaving us wanting for more!
She shared that Matilda is an earthy yoga instructor on steroids and how she gave a whole new vibe to the character! We also loved hearing her thoughts on how motherhood changed her choices and gave her the right to say no to things that no longer serve her!
We also met Jason Sudeikis who plays Red!
Lunch time brought a fun and cute perspective to the event, that I needed to share with you!

My son loved his sweatshirt, a gift to us and is looking forward to watching the movie!
Needless to say I’m totally excited about the movie and can’t wait for opening day!

I was hoping to hear all about a cute movie made after the blockbuster video game, but I’ve learned it is a lot more than that and I truly am looking forward to it!

I actually never watched Angry Birds before, but I know so many people like it! I know that my children would enjoy it.

I’ve never been sure exactly how to feel about the upcoming Angry Birds movie. On the one hand, I feel like it might be a stretch to make a movie about the game. On the other hand, that is some amazing talent. I’ll definitely be seeing it in the theater.
