You know driving is my Jam! We have so many trips planned this summer, that I’ve been looking for ways to make our trips easier, safer, and better, and you can too. Whether you are planning to go to an Extended Stay Hotel near Cleveland, Ohio or you are traveling to see some family members, you want to feel secure when you are on the road. Very excited to share how Uniden R7 is one of our recommended tips to give you a safer road trip.
3 Tips For A Safer Road Trip This Summer
Driving Safe
Driving safe means first and foremost, being aware of State laws, speed limits, and anything which can jeopardize that trip that you’ve been planning for months. If your car has some slight damage to it due to problems such as weather or a fender bender, then you may want to get that looked at before taking to the road. You can learn more about PDR with Hail Specialists, as well as check out other car repair shops, so you are ready to go with a great-looking car.
That’s why we love how the Uniden R7 radar tracks up to four signals simultaneously for greater awareness as you drive.
It also helps you avoid speeding tickets.
But we really LOVE that the OLED display includes arrows that identify the direction of incoming threats and change color on a scale of green to red to indicate the signal’s strength.
Here are a few other reasons to get it:
- Monitors your speed – With voice notification and MAX speed warning system you will be able to hear when you exceed the preset speed without taking your eyes off the road. This will enable you to maintain a safe driving speed.
- Directional arrows indicate where the radar signal is originating from
- Large screen allows you to quickly and easily read the information while allowing you to maintain your focus on the road ahead.
Why the Uniden R7? Just because being proactive when it comes to safety and avoiding potential issues is the best way to approach it.
Make Sure Your Vehicle is Safe
Not sure if you checked our Road Trip Checklist, if you haven’t please check all the steps to making sure your vehicle is beach ready! Something we forgot to add to the checklist is making sure you check your windshield for chips or any other damage. Even the smallest chips can grow and become dangerous while you’re driving. If you do have a chip then take a look on glass.net to find a suitable place to get it fixed.

Plan The Fun Ahead
Traveling just with hubby, or with my son, means thinking ahead and planning stops and photo ops – yes you heard it right!
Great snack places to visit along the way!
Make sure where we are stopping is safe and most of the time, offers a fun detour. Because nothing is better than leg stretching with a view!
Games, WiFi, snacks – it’s also important to make sure you have it all planned out to make your time inside the vehicle the best time ever!
Phones and headphones are charged overnight, chords are also in day bags!! Because you know teens, right?
I would not expect him to go on a long road trip and want to chat with us the whole time, so planning ahead is the best option!
My son has issues with motion sickness, so I ALWAYS have medicine, just in case! I also take that into consideration when planning snacks. So water, granola bars and fruit are my favorite options!
I hope my tips will inspire you to go on the summer road trip you’ve been dreaming about for years!

My dad used to have a radar detector. I am going to have to look into getting one.

I’m the world’s worst about forgetting to charge things. On road trips we always have several different devices needing to be charged – GPS, phones, etc.

I just love road trips, I love nothing more than cozying up to the kids as we embark on our adventure. The smells of hair blowing in the wind as we cruise side by side at 70mph.

These are some great tips. That radar detector sure sounds amazing. I could certainly use one of those. Not that I speed, but sometimes I catch myself on accident.

That radar detector sounds great! I love that it notifies you of crossing your speed threshold so you don’t have to worry about taking your eyes off the road.
