I was invited by Mazda to fly to California to drive the all-new Mazda CX50, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
Adventures With The New Mazda CX50
The Mazda Cx-50 has some great features that an outdoor enthusiast like me really appreciates!
Colors
Starting with the colors which bring us back to earth and nature! I personally love the Zircon sand metallic color – green truly inspired by nature

The approach to bring us back to nature and to enjoy the outdoors is reflected in every decision and vehicle capability!
More human in nature – being outdoors impacts our happiness and well being. Mazda wants people to spend more time in nature.
Panoramic Moonroof
Also love that the CX-50 is the first Mazda vehicle with a panoramic moonroof.
Spacious Trunk
Driving it for 5 hours on super narrow roads gave me the full perspective to understand that it is wider and longer to give us more space for our weekend adventures … like camping gear, the cooler and so much more.
Trendy Style
Love the interior color, the stitching and all the attention to detail and how it gives a premium feel and look that Mazda vehicles have when compared to the competition.
Modes
The towing and off-road modes make it simple for you to enjoy your new camping site, a new lake or a new hiking destination.
Towing Mode
I tested both modes and absolutely loved how it handled towing 3,500 pounds!
Off-Road Mode
The Off-Road Mode shows how impressive all the work put into making this crossover is. The Mazda CX-50 is your new best friend when your vehicle hits uncharted territories and all you want to leave is dust behind!
Another interesting thing about the 2023 Mazda CX-50 is that the CX-50 started production at the Mazda-Toyota Manufacturing plant in Alabama beginning January 2022.
Tech
Something I wanted to share as a tech lover and Apple user – I found the 10.25” screen could be a bit larger and closer to the driver.
Touchscreen is available and so is Apple Car Play / Android Auto – but it is not so intuitive to make the switch to touchscreen mode.
The Mazda CX-50 2023 2.5 S starting MSRP is $26,800 and Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo starts at $36,400.
The CX-50 is expected to go on sale sometime in mid-2022 as a 2023 model.
I loved all the features that make it the perfect vehicle for outdoor lovers like me – so much that I’m considering trading my current SUV!

Hhhhmmmm…it looks real good! The interior looks so much trendy like the Mercedes’ but that’s okay. I want to feel it’s acceleration power and top speed, first.
This is very similar to the Mazda my DIL drives (if not the same one). It’s really nice.
