On the road to loose 10 pounds I joined an amazing group of women, coached by Christy King called Step into Wellness with The Right Hand Mom! We are receiving menus, tips, interacting on the page, sharing funny and sad stories about our goals and why we would all like to show a leaner, healthier body for our Jersey Love Trip!
Today I decided to share my favorite snacks/quick breakfasts, which seem like a quick fix to tame hunger, but helped been instrumental to the pounds I have lost in the past months.
Before I exercise I love mixing fruits, low fat milk, protein and nuts, not too much of the last ingredient!
I included my favorite recipe which I had today! Banana Smoothie with Nuts
Ingredients:
Crushed ice, 1 cup low fat or fat free milk, 1 package of truvia, 5 Brazil nuts crushed, 2 small bananas, 1 Tbsp of Flax seed protein. Mix it in the blender and drink it, it is soooo good!
Fruit Salad – I have no time to prep snacks, so I prepare the salad ahead of time and leave it in the fridge, so my husband and so have a healthy snack and I can grab a small portion on the go. Sometimes this, along with greek yogurt are my only and best lunch option!
Ingredients:
Blueberries, apple slices, sliced strawberries, bananas, grapes, I add San Pelegrino Orange Water, to prevent fruits from turning black.
Go Nuts!
I often pack small packages with pistachios, cashews, Brazil nuts, walnuts on the go, just making sure the amount I have will not hurt my diet. When I eat at home, I don’t bring the bag, I pour some into a small bowl, it’s all about portion control!
Parfaits
I often mix granola, greek yogurt, low fat jam, blueberries or strawberries, in layers, which looks like an ice cream sunday! Love this for breakfast or quick snack! My son actually asks me to make it!
Go Green
Need to confess: I hate most veggies, but have been an avid consumer since early age due to my low metabolism in processing food. So I pack carrots, celery or small pieces of broccoli with a side of cream cheese, peanut butter, or something to help me enjoy my daily dose of green snack.
I usually have two snacks a day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon or at night, when my body craves sugar and fat!
Hope my tips helped you and would love to hear your snack options!
