Let’s talk Sun Screen!

I know, it’s so hard to remember to apply sun screen, I know, trust me! My crazy schedule leaves time for nothing else…

I started my love journey with sun protection when I was in my 20s.

We always owned a beach house growing up, summers were spent cooking in the sun! That’s how we call it in Brazil and just think, winter in my hometown is always in the 70s/80s, meaning we have sun and warm temperatures all year long!

In my 20s I started taking care of my skin and I decided I was going to age gracefully without resorting to plastic surgery or acid and stronger products. That’s when in my late 20s I fell in love with the Shisheido line, which now I only find at Macys.

The texture and SPF 36 gives that finished look without the normally glossy and thick texture of the other products with sun protection!

I also love the Sun Protection Line from LOCCITANE which gave me some products from their Brazilian Jenipapo Collection for review last year, check all the products I loved and still use here!

I have been trying to use at least two SPF products, moisturizer and powder or foundation and powder combos and I personally like just applying Shisheido Lip Treatment SPF 36 from the same line mentioned above.

I use different SPF products for my body, besides the LOCCITANE Line, I also use various SPF sun protection products such as Pure Sun Defense who gave me a beautiful bag and some products to try at a NYC event last month and which are sold at Target and Walmart! Event recap here.

I still love the beach and do enjoy cooking in the sun – way less often though, and I am looking forward to this summer. But as this picture taken in August last year shows, you will never see me, looking like a burned marshmallow! Protecting my skin is more than vanity, it is a way of keeping my skin looking younger and reducing the chance of skin cancer. There are products for all budgets and tastes, all you need to do is find yours and add it to your daily routine!
