I grew up in Brazil, waiting for my mom to make home made french fries, make risoles or fried shrimp, you could smell it miles away and guess what, the Mazola oil was always on top of her granite kitchen counter. She used to tell me, always use Mazola, because it is the best! So needless to say I went right to the phone, called my mom, when I heard we were invited to try the New Mazola® Sobrecitos™ bouillon!
I added the New Mazola® Sobrecitos™ bouillon to an old family recipe, our empada de frango, a Brazilian Chicken Pot Pie and it brought so much flavor, I wish I could share a piece with you, but…..nothing was left, Mazola® Sobrecitos® deliver the sabor with authentic taste I expect from traditional cubes, but more easily. Who doesn’t like that?
Brazilian Chicken Pot Pie
Ingredients:Crust:
1 cup of flour
1 tbsp of butter
2 tsp of water ( depending on how large your pie is double or triple the ingredients)
Filling:
1 chicken breast cooked and shredded
1 diced tomato without skin
chopped cilantro and salt to taste
1 chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, chopped
8 olives chopped
2 cups of shredded cheese (I use mozzarella)
1 packet of New Mazola® Sobrecitos™ mixed in 1 cup of water
Mazola Oil to fry
Preparation:Add crust ingredients, mix them with a fork and refrigerate for 40 min.
Filling:Heat the oil and cook onion and garlic until golden, add tomato, chicken, water, other ingredients and cook on low heat until water dries. Let it cool off.
Use crust on your pie plate, using the crust as if you were making a pie, placing bottom part first, add cooked mix and cheese in layers. Cover the mix with pie crust and designs, if you wish, made with cookie cutters. Use brush to lightly coat the crust with water.
Bake for 35 min. at 375 degrees or until golden brown.
I would like to invite you to try New Mazola® Sobrecitos® bouillon packets that make your family recipes easier because the bouillon dissolves completely and instantly, unlike bouillon cubes!

My favorite recipe is the Caldo de Res, as soon as I saw the picture on the Mazola’s page it reminded me when I was little and my mom used to make some caldo to keep us warm during winter. Beautiful memories from my childhood. Thank you 🙂
