This post has been brought to you in partnership with Calibrate, but all opinions are my own.
New Year, New You, you hear that kind of talk in every corner, so I wanted to address that conversation here and talk about my own weight loss journey and why I believe it has to be a holistic approach and a commitment. I’m very excited to share how you can take action and stick to your New Year’s Resolutions.
I am sharing how to Embrace A Healthy Weight With Calibrate
Embrace Healthy Weight With Calibrate
You’ve followed my journey and how I lost 44 pounds in 12 months and I’m now working on maintaining it.
One thing all these years of yo-yo dieting taught me is that there’s no silver bullet and weight loss should be a holistic experience involving many components.
That being said, let’s talk about a few important things:
I personally don’t like to diet because I believe it restricts our choices to fit in a box and when we get out of that box, we usually go back to where we were before.
You should also know my family has a history of obesity and diseases associated with it.
The picture above was taken in 2016. So, for me, as for some of you, genetics play a huge role on how you approach health and weight loss.
My dad unfortunately passed this past August due to stomach/intestine issues and other complications. So, more than ever, I want to focus on being healthy, when I think about optimal weight goals.
I also have several relatives dealing with obesity and its complications.
For me, losing weight is not just about looking my best, it is not a vanity issue, it is a health matter.
I am aiming to feel good, eat right, exercise and have support while doing it, so that it will be sustainable for the long-term.
I want to feel my best, but also ensure a healthier me for years to come!
That’s why I’m excited to share an amazing program called Calibrate.
I love that at Calibrate, they’re tackling America’s metabolic health and obesity crisis with a virtual program that gives everyone access to academic research and the latest science.
Calibrate’s One-Year Metabolic Reset pairs doctor-prescribed, prescription medication (called GLP-1s) with 1:1 accountability coaching and tracking to drive sustainable weight loss and improve overall metabolic health.
At the start of the program, your Calibrate doctor will help determine the best GLP-1 for you following your 45-minute doctor visit to review your lab work, family health history and overall metabolic health.
At the same time, your Calibrate accountability coach will meet with you bi-weekly to discuss your progress as you track the Four Pillars of Metabolic Health (food, sleep, exercise, and emotional health) in the Calibrate app.
They will also help you learn how to set and achieve goals each week that can be sustained over time. By making small, day-to-day adjustments, you will alter your set point, the weight your body works to maintain, to address your underlying biology, enabling long-term metabolic health and sustained weight loss.
As a Calibrate member, you can expect to sustainably lose at least 10% of your body weight! And what’s even more amazing, right? If a member is eligible and does not see at least 10% weight loss within one year, the Calibrate Results Guarantee promises a program refund (less the $249 Assessment cost).
- Calibrate’s One-Year Metabolic Reset is $135 a month billed through Affirm or $1,620 billed once. While Calibrate does not yet take insurance for its membership cost, you can use your FSA or HSA funds to cover the cost of the program.
