Closet Makeover
Purging your closet and looking at what you have is the best way to refresh your wardrobe.
If you’re like me, you probably have pieces you never wear which you just forgot about. So maybe now it’s time to try them out or donate them.
I look for sweaters and pants and separate them in three piles:
Buy Nothing
There’s a local group called Buy Nothing where we list items we want to give for free. If it’s gently used, then it’s a great place to give an item somebody else will enjoy.
Donate
If the pieces are not so good looking, faded, missing buttons, then I add them to the donate pile.
Keep
The pieces I plan to wear, have worn in the past two years or are brand new, those are placed in this pile.
That helps me keep my closet under control, while recycling items I had forgotten.

Fashion Trends
The beauty about fashion trends is that they come and go.
if you’re a trend follower, then you probably have a piece or two that is back in style.
Love some of the 2023 fall fashion trends:
Wide Pants With Buckle
Pencil Leather Skirt
Sequined Sweater
Love this sweater dress!
What do you think?
The one above has been my go to sweater dress at many events!
Lots of Belts and Buckles
Love all the belts and buckles coming this fall 2023!
Red is the color of desire this fall
Let’s find these pieces, I know you have them!
Buy Something, Get Rid of Something
Love these boots, but the plan is to donate them this fall and get a new pair.
Hubby and I have a deal that I can only buy a new pair of shoes if I donate or trash one.
After the Financial Peace University Program, which you can read about here, I became a lot more careful and frugal with clothing shopping.
So once in a while (which hasn’t happened in the last 8 months) I think it’s ok to buy one piece. But only if you get rid of one and make sure that is within your budget.
I have my eye on this pair of boots:

I will have to start thinking about this soon, although I am still in summer mode! It is good to do a good cleaning out and keep on top of rotating items, instead of accumulating too many.

I live in Texas so it’s almost always warm so I basically wear the same things all year long, ha. But my daughter does the whole transition thing since she’s more into fashion. I’ll just wear my same t-shirts and sweatshirts all year.
