I had a chance to enjoy EV Life for three weeks in January. The experience completely changed my outlook on EVs. Today I’m sharing my experience on The Genesis GV60: A League Of Its Own.

I want to start by letting you know that the Genesis GV60 Performance is the vehicle featured.
Technology
The GV60 is one of the most tech loaded vehicles I’ve had the pleasure to drive!
Fingerprint Authentication and Face Connect Technology

The Power front seats 4-way power lumbar, cushion extension and ergo motion will assure a comfortable drive, no matter where you go!
Uncompromised Power
Well, the old thought was that you had to compromise power when you got an EV! Not with the Genesis GV60!
The Boost Feature allows you to get to max rev in less than 4 seconds.
You have all the power you need to pull into a busy intersection, to follow highway high speeds or just to feel that sensation. I personally love having a powerful engine to play with.
We tested the 0-60s in less than 4 seconds!
I might also have tested a bit higher than that at the dealership empty back road, when we were testing a few features with a Genesis Product Expert …or might not have…. ๐
You’ll know, after reading a few of my reviews that a powerful engine is not only Trendy but also something I love in a vehicle!
I feel as a Latina, who is all about saving our environment, the GV60 offers the best of both worlds!
The ability to plug your vehicle into your home in case of a power outage or plug in a small appliance and make a margarita at the beach were definitely game changers for me, they had me at margarita!
I need to drive it in the summer and experience that part for sure!
The Bang & Olufsen Surround Sound will give you different experiences. There is the surround sound, meditation mode and so much more. And it’s customizable all at your fingertips!
You can also customize the sound your car makes when you turn it on.
Love the vent which has a lid where you can place your favorite scent, one more reason why Genesis takes your preferences into consideration in every step.
Navigation System with 12.3″ Touch Screen
Heads up display is also customizable for shorter people like me or tall people like hubby!

You will use your fingerprint and the shifter will turn up, allowing you to use the vehicle, but giving you the extra safety layer, because even if they manage to get into your vehicle without the key, they will not be able to drive it.

EV Life
Let me be honest with you. Before the Genesis, I was a bit hesitant to have EVs in my driveway. Mainly due to thinking like a lot of you reading this post. The charge anxiety was a concern for sure!
After driving the Genesis GV60 for 3 weeks, as an owner would do, I want to share why the way I view EVs is forever changed:
Charging
The Genesis GV60 comes with an EPA-Estimated 294 Mile Range.
Well, the majority of the time, the car was plugged overnight to our exterior outlet. But I just received my electric bill and it didn’t affect our regular usage.
I also did research and we actually have 12 fast charging (level 3) stations within a 5 mile radius. Some level 2 as well. They are not located in a dealership, because who wants to take a car from a different brand to a dealership to charge, right?
That really surprised me, because “running out of battery” was always somewhat of a concern until I had the Genesis GV60 and lived the EV Life.
Electrify America will give Genesis owners 3 Years of Complimentary 30-Minute Charging for All-Electric Genesis GV60. You can read more about it HERE.
You will also receive a complimentary charge at your local Genesis dealership when you bring your EV for service.
Battery Charge X COLD
Well, with the story in the media of EV owners stranded, due to sudden battery power loss and chargers not working, I wanted to share my experience with you:
- We did not experience change in battery charge range with temperatures in the teens.
- The charging time x battery charge didn’t change in the cold with the Genesis GV60. We saw no difference whatsoever in 12 days of temperatures in the 30F and below, even reaching the teens.
Next Level Comfort & Luxury
As a part of my experience as an EV “owner” while driving the Genesis GV60, I went to visit a local dealership – Genesis of Cherry Hill.
The new dealership not only embodies the brand’s customer centric banner, but also takes it to the next level!
I was extremely impressed and wanted to Thank Keri L. for her time while showing us the incredible well thought out attention to detail that went into place when planning the dealership!
The Genesis Experience starts with the mild but unforgettable scent throughout the dealership.
The same sound system in the vehicles, The Bang & Olufsen Premium Audio was brought to the dealership to give you nothing less than ownership experience extended all through the building and each area has a custom playlist.
No solid walls – Keri L., The Genesis Marketing and Customer Experience Manager, shared that the Genesis Experience is transparent, nothing is “hidden” and it sets the tone for the customer visit.
Simple decor, because the cars are the “art”
From the time you’re greeted, it is as if the team is inviting the customer to be a guest to their home.
Snacks and water are set in the guest area. A full size coffee bar and snacks along with private working stations is located in the back where the vehicle owners will comfortably wait for their vehicle to be serviced or fixed.
Again the concept of transparency, even when you’re waiting for your car to be serviced:
The sunroom/car delivery area where you will receive your vehicle/take care of financing paperwork gives you the privacy you want and need while going through that process.
Upstairs the work stations also have a miniature version of the Bang & Olufsen speakers and are set in a way that team members reserve the space they will use, avoiding clutter and paperwork left in the workstations.
After heading for a break you will find the “Gen Garden”, where a custom design, wall speaker and water feature give the team the peace to return to their work station centered and re-energized.
I didn’t want to leave for sure!
Working in such an environment would be a dream come true for this nature and peace lover!
The concept behind the dealership took every single detail the brand values and put them into motion, making the space come alive and reflect the brand in the most unique way.
After taking a tour and learning about the customer experience at the Genesis Cherry Hill Dealership, I found myself comparing my recent car buying experience (I bought a brand new SUV a few months ago). You’ll laugh, I was even crunching the numbers in my head to see if I could justify an early trade-in!
That’s what an outstanding brand experience does to you!
What is next: the weather didn’t allow us to take it on a road trip, so I would love to have the opportunity to drive the Genesis in warmer weather and do a road trip and make that Margarita on the beach!
