You know it’s hard to recruit teens to do chores right?
Now that we agree on that, I want to share my secrets to being able to give your teen a chore he/she will love to do it and even volunteer sometimes to help!

How To Give Your Teens Chores They Will Love
Let’s start with the WHY
Teens are highly moved by motivation and behavior. If you haven’t started the chore train early on, chances are that your teen will rebel and pretty much ignore and procrastinate.
It creates nagging, stress and really, is not the ideal situation at any home!
So how do you help your teen say YES to chores, all the time, every time??
Start with a list of expectations x motivation
I list chores my teen is expected to help with and his computer time will increase or not, depending on how those chores were performed without the usual: why didn’t you do it? If your teen does not like computers, find something else they value and add it as motivation.
Tech which will help them do the job every time, all the time
Some tech parent control tools will reduce the nagging issue and will for example, bring your teen to the table for dinner, stop playing the game to do his homework and chores.

Make it Fun
I recently told my son he would get a new pair of Sony headphones, because his are looking old. I told him, if he worked and did all the chores, we would give him the new pair!
I’m not saying you should buy gifts to make your teen help you, but if you had that in mind in the first place; why not make them wait a bit and give them some responsibility to work towards the rewards?

Here is what I love about the Sony Noise Canceling Headphones:

When i was having dinner with your family at Cedar Point a few weeks ago you mentioned Cujo and I had been meaning to look into it. I would like to have something like this for my family. My kids don’t over use their devices too much but there are times when I would definitely like to lock them up and make them do something else with their time. Thanks for sharing!
