You know how much I love technology, right? That’s why I’m so excited to share my newest find! We love it so much that the whole family uses it: The Google Home!
It greets you, tells you about the weather, helps my son do homework and find the height of his favorite basketball player!
It also controls our thermostat, TV and lights! I will be sharing more of the other features, but today, it’s all about how Google Home and Philips Hue open the door to unlimited possibilities!
Here are some ways to talk with your Google Assistant on Google Home when controlling Philips Hue Lighting.
| To do this: | Say “Ok Google” or “Hey Google,” then… |
| To turn on/off a light | “Turn on <light name / room name>” |
| Dim a light | “Dim the <light name / room name>” |
| Brighten a light | “Brighten the <light name / room name>” |
| Set a light brightness to a certain percentage | “Set <light name / room name> to 50%” |
| Dim/Brighten lights by a certain percentage | Dim/Brighten <light name / room name> by 50%” |
| Change the color of a light | “Turn <light name / room name> green” |
| Turn on/off all lights in room | “Turn on/off lights in <room name>” |
| Turn on/off all lights | “Turn on/off all of the lights” |
The voice activation will allow you to give all the commands above and have amazing results! We customized each user on their own app, so when I greet Google Home, “Hi!”, it replies: “Hi Claudia, How can I help?” It’s awesome!
Our dogs are afraid of the dark, so we set the lights to dim but not turn off at 11:00pm! It truly opened a world of unlimited possibilities! Check it out:

I have been curious to see all of these digital assistants. They do look cool. Just curious about how much information I want to give up.
I read about the hue lights on another blog and I look forward to getting some for my home. I think it’s so cool to have the colors change to suit your mood.
We have a GoogleHome and I am in love with it! My husband wants to start adding all of the gadgets like lighting that can work with it. He wants a full smart house eventually!

Google Home looks awesome. I would love to be up to date with all technology, but sadly I probably won’t get to own this. It does look and sound cool at everything it can do. Technology has come a long way.

The different colors of lighting look super cool! Lighting can really change the mood of a room, so it’s important to set the right color!

The google home sounds like an amazing gadget that can help with so many things in life, although I think if I got it turning on lights it would eventually make me very idle!
This is awesome! However I think in our house, we’d never actually get light out of it, because we would be too busy taking turns bossing it around to see what happened. I wonder what type of family could leave it alone and let it just be a light? Certainly not mine.

That is amazing…the fact that the bulb can change the color even without voice control is incredible. Adding the voice feature is unbelievable.

I have an LED bulb in my living room that changes colors. I am a huge fan of LED lights in general.
