Today I was very excited to leave Walmart with 5 fresh coconuts! Why??? Because, since I was a child, we used to exercise along the boardwalk in my hometown in Salvador- Brazil and have a yummy coconut water afterwards! We all know that it hydrates and energizes after a workout in the hot Brazilian sun!
I honestly believe coconut water saved my life once, when I was eight, I had a very strong diarrhea and vomit for over 3 days and a strong pain on my stomach and I could not eat anything but drink coconut water, my mom kept me on that after trying everything else and finally took me to the doctor where we found out I had appendicitis and needed to rush to surgery! The culture in Brazil is, you try to heal your children with what you know, so teas and coconut water are commonly used for stomach viruses and other stomach related diseases.
