I moved to the US and my Interpreter and Translator background put me back into a career I really didn’t enjoy, life came in the way, I became director of the largest translator’s association in my area and the National Parks used my services exclusively for Spanish and Portuguese Translations, but I wasn’t happy and it reflected on my business and when the recession came, everything started crumbling down; I had to shut down my large office, on what I call one of the darkest years of my life! A business competitor, a mommy blogger drove one of my businesses into emotional bankruptcy through gossip, I lost my dog to a negligent Kennel caretaker, I packed 20 pounds and my husband lost 60% of his income at his government job, which forced us to drastically change our lifestyle, no more BMW, no more daily trips to stores and we almost lost our large home, all in that dark year!
In December 2011, I decided to stop crying and list my goals, tap into things I really liked to do, go back to foreign languages but now boosting my teaching business which had been neglected at that point and blog more, blogging was an outlet, a way for me to increase my school’s visibility and share my frustrations and dreams. I let go and allowed that new energy flowing to guide me to only do things I loved! Pursue my passion! You need to feel passionate about something in your life and if you can make it into a full-time job then you are doing the best that you can in living the life you want. If blogging is your passion then keep at it because it could lead to something more, and if you need help in that area you can check out web design melbourne services or services within your location, so you are supported with this journey. Don’t give up, passion can make you fight through those bad days and get what you need.
2 years later, I have completely rebuilt EasyLearn Languages (my school) and we currently have a waiting list for new students. Blogging moved from being an outlet to being a profitable way to share things I love, brands I care about, to give my son experiences and products he always dreamed to have! I moved from 300 page views to 43,000 page views in just one year! To be honest, I have heard about similar blogging journeys of my friends who went straight from 0 to achieving almost a milestone of 50,000 views. I have heard them discussing about how the process of blogging can be made easier by learning more about the basics like web hosting. Most of my blogger friends are known for using WrodPress and they had recommended me earlier to check out lists of WordPress Hosting Companies (like this one here- The Best WordPress Hosting Companies: A Data Driven Review) that can help in improving search engine ranking and user experience of any blog page. Furthermore, I had learned that by using WordPress hosting, it could be possible to monetize my blogs. Well, I guess I have already done that! Maybe new bloggers will find this information helpful!
Coming back to my story, yes, challenges and new adjustments keep coming with my husband’s recent retirement, but I am just getting started! Being invited to be one of the few people in the world to be allowed to stand on the roof and take a picture with the Times Square Ball assured me, I’m on the top of my game and walking in the right direction! That experience gave me confidence to believe that it’s my time to rise, the same way the Ball rises on the New Year and millions watch it shine! I KNOW 2014 will be my year!
I hope sharing my story will empower others to stand up, no matter how dark it is! I hope my story helps them take steps towards their dreams, their goals; after all success starts with a single step, every day, in the right direction!

Here’s to 2014: the Year of Claudia! Sometimes when we let go, we GAIN so much in return. It’s the letting go and taking that huge leap of faith that’s the hardest part. Awesome job on your accomplishments!

What an inspiring story! Thank you for sharing. We have to overcome that bad stuff. When I was 33, I had a stroke (I have a rare blood clotting disorder). I thanked God that I didn’t die and recovered 100%, but it made me see things in a different way. I came back after that stronger than ever, with a new plan, a business, and a dedication to be the person God meant me to be, and that not that defeated sad woman. It weathered me through 9/11 and having 2 children with disabilities, and I’m glad I, like you, rose to the challenge.

This is your time, Claudia, but I believe it’s your destiny to have every “time” be your time. Because of the person you are, the persistence you show and the courage you have to do what you want, when you want it, and to make it work for you. I am honored to be your friend.
