You know the journey to EV ownership has been bumpy and taken turns but I firmly believe, if we take the right steps, it is a journey to a better and less expensive driving experience. So, today I’m sharing some thoughts on Navigating EV Ownership With The Nissan Ariya.
I received the Nissan Ariya for a short period for review purposes, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
Navigating EV Ownership With The Nissan Ariya
EV Life Savings
We have saved an average $250.00 in our monthly gas budget while driving EVs for a couple weeks!
The 2024 Nissan Ariya give us 267 miles full charge range, meaning, even if we drove to NYC, a 92 mile drive, we would still have plenty of charge to go and return and comfortably do that trip, without the EV anxiety that many fear.
We charged the EV vehicle overnight at home using our outdoor outlet. Yet our electric bill did not show a surge in power consumed.
There is some talk about our power grid not being able to support all the houses becoming charging stations for EV vehicles. I agree and understand that, but as we move forward, I believe more choices will be made available to give us the power to make the EV choice.
We are very lucky to have 12 EV stations in a 5 mile radius. There are a few fast charging stations, some stations at the local mall, gas stations, and convenience stores making the charging wait a pleasant experience.
Through EA (Electrify America), some of the EV vehicles we drove, offered a complimentary 3 year charging “allowance” at no cost to the consumer.
EV ownership is a lifestyle choice
From some of the questions and issues brought up by media and consumers (even close friends), I honestly believe EV ownership is more of a lifestyle choice than a mere purchase.
It takes adapting, planning, and making the conscious choice to live that lifestyle, which is in my opinion, an unavoidable future for us, especially in the US.
EV ownership is no longer a California Tree-Lovers idea, it is a road map to less pollution, cleaner air, reduced costs and a fast take off to wherever the road takes you.
For Latinos, it means preserving the natural resources we love so much, while enjoying the ride!
Battery Cost Issue
Some early adapters are now looking at battery replacement costs. Well, think about used gas vehicles which need large repairs, they are also very costly, I know because we’ve recently went through an ordeal with a used vehicle.
A friend needed a new engine in a 7 year old vehicle and the total cost of engine, parts and labor was over $ 10,000.
I honestly feel that is not a plausible reason not to consider an EV.

Exterior
Love the design, headlights, large grill and bold look which gives the Nissan Ariya a futuristic look!
Love the projected lights on the ground, reminding you of the brand and giving you that premium feel.

Interior
Love the blue materials combined with gold tones and accents.
Interior Lights
Also love the ambient lights around the front and in the speakers, which make you feel like you are in a “spaceship”, one more reminder that the future is here!
Moveable Center Console
The mobile center console not only gives you more space when you’re driving, but it also gives you front cabin floor space.
I had to pick up some boxes on my own and was in hurry, so moving the center console was the fastest and perfect choice to fit the two boxes I went to pick up.

Also wanted to show you how the wireless cell phone charger is concealed under the center console cover, a very smart solution in my opinion.
Loved being able to touch the center panel and control without having to play around with multiple knobs.
Interior Space
Even though a friend joked about me only being 5’4”, I base my opinion on how I fit in other vehicles and the Ariya was one of the most spacious vehicles I’ve been in.
Mother’s Day is on the same day here and in Brazil. After calling my mom, my husband and son took me for a mother’s day brunch outing with my 6’9” son and he too, had a lot of leg room!
Comfort
The Zero Gravity seats are very comfortable, one of my favorite features on Nissan vehicles, they help reduce fatigue on the body.
Climate Control Options
The option to customize your climate controls for each passenger on the front seats is a great feature!
The Ariya also offers heating seat controls in the back
Tech
Screen size and how it becomes a part of the vehicle instead of “standing out of it”, in my opinion that gives you a cleaner and more premium look!
Sound System
You know this Latina loves music, right?
The “Bose” Premium Sound System with 10 Speakers, combined with the quiet cabin, offers you the perfect environment for enjoying your favorite hits as you navigate the roads with your Ariya!
I took it to my hairdresser and enjoyed the opportunity to drive green farm roads, blasting the bass, so much relaxing and fun at the same time!
Ports & Connectivity
As you can see, being connected and using the seamless Apple Car Play or Adroid Auto on the Ariya Platinum is as easy as 3 clicks.
All the ports and wireless charger, ensures you are hands free but connected to have your favorite app, music, navigation and so much more!
The Camera on the rear view mirror is also a great feature I wanted to share with you!
Head’s up Display
It kept asking me to look up, maybe the height setting I needed to adjust. The car thought I was too short 🙂
Panoramic Moonroof
The wide panoramic sunroof brings the outdoors in! A must have in vehicles in my opinion, which I enjoy, especially on nice days!

EVs have come such a long way! I remember when they used to be tiny, odd-looking little things. I love the battery life they have now, too. I’d love to upgrade to this Ariya.
