October is a special month for us, not only to raise awareness of breast cancer, since my husband’s first wife died from the disease, but to also show support to organizations who help the cause.
That is why we were excited to jump at the opportunity to join the Breast Cancer Walk in North Jersey with Toyota, while making New Strides With The RAV4.
New Strides With The RAV4
Gorgeous time of year to travel to Virginia!
We knew our teen would enjoy the college break and sleep in, so we planned things for us to do before meeting him!
Here are some of our favorite things to do in Lynchburg, VA
Riverwalk
A great path which takes you alongside a green area, trees, parks and awesome restaurants.
We had lunch at The Water Dog.
Locals recommended the fried oysters, so I chose the salmon salad with a small order of the oysters!
Sooo good and fresh and very fairly priced!
We took the RAV4 Hybrid for a downtown check and found this beautiful river in the center of town.
Time for Dinner with our son, we checked out another local favorite: Fratelli.
The steak and pastas were amazing! Upscale, but totally worth the visit and the price!
So good to give my son a hug and see him! I had forgotten how much this teen can eat!
We wanted to make the best of our second and last day there, so we chose to go for an early morning hike along the Blackwater Creek Trail.
Almost five miles of paved/unpaved paths, green trees, rivers and a surprise waterfall along the way.
We even saw a creepy tunnel, which ended up being a cool place to navigate through!
We took The RAV4 exploring again and ended up checking out another local favorite for lunch!
A healthy restaurant/food store called the Farm Basket overlooking the creek .
I enjoyed a fresh local mozzarella salad and the beautiful view!
Time to meet up with our teen again and enjoy time together and … dinner!
We chose what the locals consider the best pizza place in town!
Waterstone Fire Roasted Pizza
Another beautiful restaurant and amazing food!
Time to say good bye to my baby! He looks like he grew, LOL!
I look so short at 5’6″ besides him!
So hard to say goodbye but we know he’s in great hands at Liberty University, pursuing his dreams!
The rainbow on our ride back was a sign that his journey has just begun and now it’s up to him!
Back at home, we enjoyed heading to North Jersey to participate and support in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk with Toyota!
We were sad to see the RAV4 Hybrid Prime go for so many reasons! You’ve seen where the road took us, but now let’s explore some of our vehicle favorites:
Fuel Efficiency
As I said, if you’re looking for a reason to buy a Hybrid, just go to a gas station and look at the prices!
We were able to get nearly 50 miles/gallon on the highway! Amazing, right?
Prime Package
The prime package not only gives you all the bells and whistles you look for, but also the style you didn’t know you needed!
Love the black/red interior with the stitching on the seats and details!
Also love the Sound System, the speakers and all the ports and chargers!
A Tech Dream Vehicle!
Price
Priced at $38,100 as is, it offers you not only the fuel efficiency and details I’ve mentioned but all the tech needs you might have!
Design
Love the way it looks, the clean lines, yet beautifully crafted as well and the color!
We had lots of people stop and look at it while it was parked. Sooo pretty, don’t you think?
Special Feature
Automatic Parking Break
When we turned off the car with the foot on the break pedal, it automatically set the parking break, which is a feature we don’t have on our SUV!
Sunroof
Loved being able to enjoy the ride even more with the sunroof!

I am loving that Rav 4! I am also loving this road trip as we love traveling by car…. Nothing better than exploring the wonderful parts of the US than by driving sand stopping sand visiting. I love it!
