You know we’re a busy family! Both my husband and I own businesses which solely rely on the internet! My son is also a very connected child, who owns a Video Channel and a blog and plays games online all the time.
My family lives in Brazil so our tablets and computers are the primary way to keep us together!
So now you understand why our family truly needs reliable and fast internet service, to help us stay connected!
I was tired of hearing my son complain about the game lagging or my Face-Time family time crashing all the time! Or even worse, the slow speed, when all the devices were connected at the same time!
That’ s when we decided to check Connected Home at Best Buy. There we found the Networking (Router): NETGEAR Nighthawk X8 Tri-Band Quad Stream AC5300 Smart WIFI Router (SKU: 4446201 – reg. price $399.99)
It includes an Ethernet cable, phone cable, power adapter and 4 adjustable antennas. Download the Netgear Genie iOS app or Android app to manage, monitor and control your network from your compatible computer, tablet or smartphone.
Our slow internet problem was replaced by increased Wi-Fi speed for buffer-free streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) and gaming (Xbox, Steam). Lag-free browsing allowed us to connect a variety of devices, without sacrificing performance. The router automatically prioritizes devices by Wi-Fi bandwith needs, or you can use the Network Map on the Genie app to manually prioritize.
Every parent worries about control when your child is online. Well, the router offers complete control: setup parental controls to block access to specific sites on certain devices. Plus you can restrict access by time (ex. Shutting off certain devices from Wi-Fi during dinner or bed times). Or set up a dedicated guest network, allowing friends easy access to your Wi-Fi while safeguarding the files on your devices.
ReadyShare USB Port: Simply plug in a USB drive to your router’s port and safely share all files on the drive (can include movies, pictures, music, etc.) across all the devices on your network. I particularly love that!
How is the Internet speed at your house? Can’t wait to hear what you think and as usual, give us a trendy shout!
