The remarkable true-life story of Ricky Hill’s improbable journey to play Major League Baseball.
Growing up impoverished in small-town Texas, young Rickey Hill shows an extraordinary ability for hitting a baseball, despite wearing the leg braces from a degenerative spinal disease.
His stern, pastor father (DENNIS QUAID) discourages Rickey from playing baseball to protect him from injury, and to have him follow in his footsteps and become a preacher.
As a young man, Rickey (COLIN FORD) becomes a baseball phenomenon. His desire to participate in a try-out for a legendary major league scout divides the family and threatens Rickey’s dream of playing professional baseball.

The Hill sounds incredibly inspiring with its blend of sports and personal struggle. Dennis Quaid and Colin Ford are fantastic choices for this moving true story. Can’t wait to watch it!

Wow, what an inspiring story of perseverance and determination! Rickey’s ability to hit a baseball despite wearing leg braces from a degenerative spinal disease is remarkable. It’s heartwarming to see that his passion for baseball has led him to become a phenomenon in the sport. Unfortunately, his father discourages him from playing, but understandably, he wants to protect his son. Despite his challenges, Rickey’s dream of playing professional baseball is alive. I’m rooting for him and can’t wait to see where his talent takes him!

I keep seeing posts about this movie and I still haven’t watched it yet, but it’s still something I’d love to sit and watch with my husband, I think he’d really like it!
