This is a must make, amigos! I know what you are thinking, torta carnita is made with bread but my version uses the ingredients of the filling of torta carnita and merged with Shepherd’s pie ensamble and its low fat! Vaya!!!
1/2 sweet pepper
2 cloves of garlic
cumin ( 1 pinch)
cayenne pepper ( 1 pinch)
1pound ground beef
1/2 cup of milk
Season ground beef with cayenne pepper cumin, salt at least 4 hours before cooking it. Chop onion, pepper, garlic, place it on olive oil in low heat add ground beef, cook until brown and drain.
Boiled peeled potatoes and chop them, place in a mixer with milk, salt, pepper, egg. If it looks too thick, add more milk. I use low fat milk. Beat for 4/5 min mash potatoes style.
Place beef, then mash, sprinkle some cheese if you are not worried about calorias!
Secreto: beware of cayenne pepper if your children are going to eat it! Caliente! If you want a fluffier mash, beat the egg before and reserve,then add at the end.
