You know I’ve just come back from #DisneySMMC on board the Disney Wonder! We had such an amazing time! I will be sharing our experience with you in the upcoming weeks!
Today, our Trendy Thursday segment will feature some of my favorite outfits for the Disney Cruise and share some post trip insights on how those choices worked out during our trip!
First I want to give you my must bring basic fashion list, to give you an idea of what needs to be packed first in your suitcase!
Cruise Outfit Basics
A Hat
A great hat is a must pack! I chose a smaller one than I normally have, because of obvious packing issues! It proved to be perfect and soooo needed especially on the Castaway Cay Island, where the sun proved to be stronger and left my husband and son with sunburn!
Sandals
I chose a different type of sandals for this trip! Flip Flops, low heel and higher heel sandals for dinner time! That narrowed down my shoe choices and allowed me not to worry about bringing other shoes! Depending on where you are going, you may also need a pair of boots – you might want to discover a range of Ara shoes and boots online before packing. Because I was going on a warm weather cruise, I went for sandals. I actually bought the sandals below in Disney Springs at Zara after we arrived during our Social Media Challenge Day, when we were invited by Disney to shop and share our outfit!
You know I looooved that challenge, right?
I wore flip flops all the time I wasn’t attending conferences. My low heels were used at the parks prior to the trip and during the cruise meals we had inside the restaurants where flip flops are not allowed.
When you’re cruising you want to be comfortable, that’s the most important choice you will ever make!! So, remember that! After all, nothing is more comfortable to bare feet when you want to relax!
Beach Wear
I bought one bottom, a skirtkini and two tops to mix and match! It allowed me to wear one to the pool and another one to the beach! On a 3 night cruise, that was just perfect!
I also wore this cover up, which was the perfect choice to look great in the hot weather!
Sun Glasses
I debated bringing more than one, but in the end, I decided to bring a larger pair of glasses I have. They protected my eyes and gave me that polished beach look! Such great accessories in most of my pictures!!!
I couldn’t stand being out without them!
Conference and Dinner Outfits
You know we attended conference meetings on board and dinner was always an opportunity to dress up for a date night with hubby or enjoy a show at the theater! It was the perfect chance to wear some jewellery that I hadn’t had a chance to wear elsewhere. I prefer simple pieces that are easy to pack, with the idea being less is more. Somewhere like Etsy is a great place to find jewellery nowadays. If you’re looking for simple pieces to compliment a dinner outfit, there are plenty you can get here.
I love putting together classic dinner outfits. Here are some of my faves:
Love this green dress, the restaurants were not cold at all that night, so I had a chance to wear my dress without needing a coat!
I loved the embroidered black dress, giving a whole new meaning to that little black dress for dinner!
We had three nights on board and 2 days to attend events on board, so some of my choices changed between morning and night time.
Pirate Night
The cruise will give you a bandana, if you were not prepared for Pirate night, but still want to join in on the fun last minute!
I came prepared! I brought a pirate costume and went all out! Do you like it?
My husband was also wearing a costume, my son preferred to wear a Tee and bandana when he attended the party with the teens at the Edge Club, you can read more about that HERE!
I brought more formal clothes and a long cover up I didn’t have a chance to wear! The outfits at dinner time were a lot more laid back than the last cruise we had attended, which gave us the chance to relax and not worry about being too formal!
I didn’t have a chance to have dinner at the Palo Restaurant. Hubby and I chose to eat with our son every night! The dress code for that restaurant is more formal and reservations are required to enjoy that restaurant! Maybe next time!
What do you think of my outfit choices? Do you like them?
As usual, give us a Trendy Shout!

When I think of cruise attire, I think about swimwear, rompers and sundresses. Then I think about more swimsuits! I don’t think I need to go on another cruise anytime soon though.
