Today I want to share a series that shook me to the core and brought tears and so many wisdom moments highlighting women and their journey to live a life that honors God. Unshakable Moxie Overview
No spoilers, but I want to give you a glimpse of how awesome this series is!
Episode 1 – Introduction
I had heard of Toni Collier through social media and Christian Apps, but I had never heard of Moriah.
It was great to have an intro of who they are and where they are coming from and that they are just women, broken and imperfect like me!
Loved how culture and food are a part of the series! As a Christian Latina Woman, I loved seeing Moriah’s birthday party, the colors, the food, and the heritage openly displayed to open the doors to a series that displays women’s courage to be vulnerable.
Episode 2 – Ruth Chou Simmons
I received Ruth’s book, Gracelaced, from a dear friend for my birthday!
The book takes you through a journey of prayer and scripture diving but what I didn’t know is that she wrote that book and did the watercolor art from a place of pain. To help her hurting husband and family during a hard time!
Episode 3 – Lina Abujamra
I’d never heard of her, but her poise and immigrant story and work resonated with me!
Her church’s deep disappointment and healing journey to find God has so much in common with mine!
Episode 4- Katie Lewis
Her beautiful Christian Jewelry made this Trendy Latina’s heart happy!
Her grief story and how the death of her mom inspired her to build a business with a mission is an amazing story!
Episode 5- Dr. Bernice King
I’ve always wondered what Martin Luther King Jr’s family felt while living with the pain of loss but assurance that he gave his life for God, for his mission.
This episode answered my questions and left a deep mark in my heart to show that we all feel bitter, angry at some point in our lives and by seeking God, we navigate it all stronger on the other side, living the life God created us to live!
Episode 6- Joni Erickson Tada
This episode was hard for me to watch for so many reasons, but as they continued the conversation, I saw myself in her struggles, in her pain and in her cry for help!
My back pain injury which came out of nowhere and the pain I had to endure when I suffered my first “flare”, allowed me to connect with her chronic pain story and how we need to “seek God from being in pain on the floor”, from our lowest moments.
Stop asking why me, why this condition and start asking God to bring strength and resilience to help me through.
I know God has a bigger purpose for my life and this series reassured me of that!
At the end of series, I felt like those women were my friends and we shared those meals and time together and somehow, such different women and stories had so much similarity with my own.

I’m not into watching religious television as I am more spiritual after being raised in the cult of Catholicism, but I love the premise. I would love a prayer journal though because I learned to write prayers vis the book Illuminata: Thoughts, Prayers, Rites of Passage written by Marianne Williamson. I read this book decades before she became a presidential candidate.

Now this is my kind of book, and it sounds so uplifting and inspiring indeed. I definitely wouldn’t mind having the prayer journal. I love to have my prayer journals on hand when I’m traveling.
