I haven’t shared what I’ve been watching recently, but I thought it was about time to give you an update on What I’ve Been Watching In October.
What I’ve Been Watching In October
So many new titles and my absolute favorite time to watch horror movies, so let’s get started with my binge watching list for October:
The Burial on Prime Video
Inspired by true events, a lawyer helps a funeral home owner save his family business from a corporate behemoth, exposing a complex web of race, power.
I won’t spoil the fun of watching it, but Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx are outstanding in this movie!
It is a mix of comedy, action and a very well written plot based on a true story!
You can watch The Burial, which is streaming on Prime Video.
Renfield on Prime Video
Renfield, the tortured aide to his narcissistic boss, Dracula, is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding. However, after centuries of servitude, he’s ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of the Prince of Darkness.
The movie is so funny and has a lot of non-sense but it all makes sense if you look at the big picture!
Nicholas Cage is super funny and a great villain at the same time! This action packed comedy is definitely a must watch on my list!
Virgin River
The new season starts with a lot of action caused by a local fire and a lot more drama.
I highly recommend you watch the previous seasons to understand the full story!
Searching for a fresh start, a nurse practitioner moves from LA to a remote northern California town and is surprised by what — and who — she finds.
You can watch Virgin River on Netflix.
Outlander
I’ve started the new season – season 7, but decided to re-watch previous seasons before finishing it! I never get tired of watching The Outlander!
That is definitely one of my favorite series of all!
The “Outlander” series spans the genres of romance, science-fiction, history and adventure in one epic tale. It follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 Scotland.
Romance, eye-candy, beautiful photography and drama makes this series a timeless piece!
You can watch The Outlander on Starz!
Horror is a theme in October, so why not browse the streaming services and find some old favorites along with new ones?
The Pope’s Exorcist
Russel Crowe brings an amazing performance along with horror, Vatican stories and so much more!
Father Gabriele Amorth, chief exorcist for the Vatican, battles Satan and innocent-possessing demons. A detailed portrait of a priest who performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.
The Movie “The Pope’s Exorcist” is based on a true story which makes it even more interesting!
It is not the most terrifying movie I’ve seen, but it’s definitely worth watching.
The Pope’s Exorcist is streaming on Netflix.
Deliver Us From Evil
As a veteran member of a South Bronx precinct, NYPD Sgt. Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana) has seen more than his share of dark and horrifying events – so many that they have begun to poison his soul.
Sarchie further finds his beliefs and understanding pushed to the limit when he and his partner investigate a particularly bizarre incident.
He forms an alliance with a renegade priest (Edgar Ramírez), who tries to convince Sarchie that real evil – and demons – do exist.
Great action and horror! Loved watching the movie for the first time, even though it is an older one!
Ashoka
The series follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Ahsoka. Also known as, Star Wars: Ahsoka
Haunted Mansion
Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.
I haven’t watched it, but I will watch The Haunted Mansion October 17th on Disney+ and will let you know how it was!
You can also read a few things I’ve learned from watching From Scratch HERE.
I can’t wait to hear what you think about what I’m watching in October.

Great list! I love Virgin River, I can’t wait for the next part of the current season to come out so I can see what happens next. I really enjoyed the new Haunted Mansion, I actually like it better than the original. Deliver us from evil looks good too, it is on my to watch list.

October is always the busiest time for cinema releases! ‘The Burial’ with Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx is a captivating mix of comedy and action, and ‘Renfield’ with Nicholas Cage is a must-watch for its humor and unique storyline. And of course, ‘Outlander’ is a timeless series that never loses its charm. I’m ready to watch some of these!

Ashoka is so good! My husband convinced me to watch it, and I’m hooked. I’m not even a big Star Wars fan. LOL

Thanks for sharing as some of these shows I was not familiar with. I think “The Pope’s Exorcist” would be at the top to add to my watch list.

Certainly some good options here. I like Russel Crowe, so I think the Pope’s Exorcist is the movie for me!
