In the morning, there was a special celebration for the International Day Of Happiness, when Team Smurfs rallied behind the 17 Goals through to the International Day of Happiness on 20 March 2017 – when the campaign culminated in a celebration at United Nations Headquarters in New York to mark the occasion. This year, the International Day of Happiness highlighted the Sustainable Development Goals as building blocks of happiness. Voice actors from the upcoming animated movie Smurfs: The Lost Village attended to honor youth and children who have played a role in raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals.
“The entertainment industry moves the hearts and minds of people of all ages, and the UN thanks our friends at Sony Pictures Animation and the Smurfs for this creative effort to mobilize support for the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division in the United Nations Department of Public Information.
“All of us, even a small Smurf, can achieve big goals!” added Demi Lovato, who voices Smurfette in the upcoming animated movie Smurfs: The Lost Village. That’s such a great quote!

I remember The Smurfs, I always wondered how they populated the village with only one girl smurf! Hopefully they have more girl smurfs now a days! LOL 🙂

Oh my goodness! My oldest son was a Smurfs freak when he was a kid. I can’t count how many Smurf themed birthday parties he had. So many that a childhood friend recently found and gave him a Smurf board game for his birthday. She said it was in honor of all those parties in years gone by. Ha!
