I received the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport for review purposes but all opinions are my own.
We were invited to check the Sweet Lights at Hershey, PA! Just picture this: winter, cold, possibly snow, gorgeous hotel on the mountain and a fun weekend ahead!
When you plan a trip in the winter to a cold climate area, part of preparing for your drive is making sure you have the right vehicle to handle any weather and any challenges your road trip might bring you, to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Our vehicles are small and not really snow friendly, so we were extremely excited to be able to take the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Road Trip Day: snow started to fall! Here we go!
After a fun road trip, we arrived at the the hotel, picture perfect for the best winter trip, isn’t it?
After a delicious dinner, we embarked on the ride through the attraction called Sweet Lights!
We entered a spectacle of colors, music and lights! The snow covered grounds made the perfect frame for a trip we won’t forget!
Such a beautiful road with lights, Christmas history and the best that the holiday season can bring!
We could see the bright lights in front of us and behind us, all that the beautiful attraction could offer through our windows.
We left promising we would be back next year!
Here are some things we loved about the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport:
Spacious, as I said, my 6’5″ son could fit comfortably in it and had a great comfortable ride!
Great pick up, the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) shifted gears so smoothly, making the ride extremely enjoyable, even when we hit some traffic.
Great for driving in the snow, perfect vehicle for road trips

- Automatic All Wheel Drive
- Locked Hubs All Wheel Drive
Very bright headlights, providing great visibility
Mitsubishi is one of the few auto manufacturers that allows you to adjust the headlight height from the dashboard – great option for when the vehicle is loaded down with cargo and you need to lower the headlights to stop them from shining into the oncoming driver’s face
Panoramic glass roof with ambience lighting
Fuel efficient, we averaged between 28 – 29 mpg
Trendy And Stylish
Here are some things you should know:
It did not have a navigation program built in, we had to use our phone and add the app that Mitsubishi uses for a navigation system
No adaptive cruise control
No USB/electric charging port option in the back
No option to control the temperature / fans from the back seats
We loved traveling in the Outlander Sport and found it to be the perfect vehicle for our winter trip to Hershey PA.

Living in Canada, I sometimes wish that I do have all wheels drive to get out of the snow in the winter. My friend used to have a Mitsubishi sedan with all wheels drive and we got a ride a while a few winters ago. I wish I could have taken a test spin in some snow. Would have been fun.

I love the Mitshubihi its a great looking car and space is always important with a family. The sweet lights look lovely, very jealous I have never seen anything like that near us but would absolutely love to expereince it

This car looks beautiful. I’ve been to Hershey, PA but never went thru the lights. I’m going to have to add that to my list for when I visit next during the holidays.
I love to drive around and look at all the beautiful light displays. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport looks like a fantastic road trip vehicle. It has so much space and great features. I will have to take one for a test drive.
All wheel drive and enough head room for a 6’5″ teen — sounds perfect for your trip. That’s decent gas mileage, too! Glad you got to see Christmas lights with the snow. Magical!

There’s no doubt that you picked the perfect ride for that trip! I think it’s awesome that it’s spacious and has a lot of great features that anyone would enjoy.
I friend actually has an Outlander older model. She loves it and has had it a couple years. I like that you pointed out that it’s roomy. That’s one important factor for me and cars. Can I sit everywhere and will I be comfortable. I’m not 6 foot anything but space is still nice. We visited Hershey once and would like to go back one day.
Sweet Lights is really neat to see. I think I’ve seen this model but can’t say for sure without seeing the exterior. 4WD can be really helpful.

That looks like a great vehicle for snowy trips! I’m so thankful that I live in Arizona now. I went to Boston last week and was a nervous wreck driving in the snow!
I have been to Hershey a few times when we visited my husband’s family, although we weren’t driving in a Mitsubishi though. I think that is one awesome vehicle. I love the ones that have a roomy interior and can drive through snow and rough roads. If we are going to get a new vehicle, I am going to make sure it will be a Mitsubishi this time.

Sometimes I wish I were living in the USA. In Austria we don’t get the whole crazy-christmas-light thing and sometimes I wish we would 🙂
This took me on a trip down memory lane! We have a place near by where I grew up in Pittsburgh where we saw lights like this every holiday season as a kid and it was one of my favorite memories. And the car sounds fantastic, too!
I love the fuel efficiency for such a stylish and luxury styled car. I will have to put this on my list for our next round of car shopping.

I have never driven nor traveled in a Mitsubishi car. Sounds like a great one though! Never been to Hershey either!
I am sure you still had a lovely time never been there but does seem nice to visit. Plus I can’t drive yet and I’m still scared to even try it.
