You know I travel a lot, right? I’ve found different ways to keep my Keto Lifestyle while traveling, so today I’m sharing 5 Tips On How To Eat Keto While Traveling.
5 Tips On How To Eat Keto While Traveling
A lot of friends tell me, it’s super hard to stay on track when they travel. I’m here to tell you, can and will stay on track just by making healthier choices.
Keto at the Airport
There are always ways to find Keto Meals at the Airports!
Breakfast
Instead of oatmeal, sugar loaded yogurt parfait or fruit cups, choose a breakfast sandwich instead. You can find a bacon egg and cheese anywhere, all you have to do is decide if you need some fuel, opting for half of the carb portion or if you can discard that and just eat the bacon, egg and cheese.
I usually get the bottom part of the bagel, which is thin and eat that with the bacon egg and cheese, to keep me full until I have lunch or sometimes dinner at my destination.
Lunch
Always look for a chicken Caesar wrap, a salad, some cheese and nuts, most places offer them!
Dinner
I usually grab one of the above and wait to eat at home. You can also stop at a restaurant at the airport and choose a protein + veggies.
Water is my go to drink.
Keto while road tripping
I bring some keto snack mixes from home for the airplane ride and for the road trip.
You can check out some of my favorite Keto Snacks HERE.
I love these ones as well:
Keto Turmeric Trail Mix
Also love all types of nuts
Keto Cheese or Everything Crackers
Cold Cuts on greens
Berries
You can bring them from home, saving money on expensive airport or destination options!
I also buy water, if we’re just driving to the destination, I stock up with a few bottles to save on paying 5.00 for a bottle. I bring them to the hotel and leave them in the fridge.
Keto Meals
We usually look for breakfast places and restaurants which will have a somewhat Keto friendly meal.
I usually order eggs, an omelet with a cup of berries at the hotel!
I avoid small local coffee shops which usually only offer pastries along with coffee.
If you’re traveling on a budget, look for a Wawa or Dunkin’ Donuts and grab an egg and cheese or bacon egg and cheese breakfast wrap.
I sometimes ask the server; can I substitute the bread for a bed of greens? They often will accommodate my needs.
Be Prepared
Planning is essential to keeping your Keto Lifestyle while traveling. I often look ahead for restaurants, snack places and bring snacks in my travel bag to minimize the need to go off Keto and help me save.
Relax and Enjoy Your Trip
Most of my work trips do not give me the option to choose my meals, so I just relax and enjoy. I also look through the options and make wise choices.
I skip the pastry section of the breakfast spread and head to the eggs, protein area; skipping bread and bagels as well. My plate has a generous portion of eggs, protein and a small serving of berries if they offer.
Lunch and dinner is easy, Salads are my best friend, I go easy on alcoholic beverages and skip desserts, unless it’s very small and tasty.
My most important tip is that you enjoy your trip without feeling guilty about getting out of your keto diet if you have to!
You can always get back on track, when you get home!
Enjoy the local flavors, experience the special treats in moderation and resume when you are back into your regular lifestyle!
I’ve been doing that for 3 years and haven’t put on a single pound by doing it!

I am so on the fence about going to this diet…. I have heard so many great things and saw a documentary on Prime called The Magic Pill and it was eye opening for sure. I love this post and it gives me hope that it can be a diet that I can stick too.
