We received the BMW 530e Plugin Hybrid for review purposes, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
You know my son has been accepted to 10 universities. Awesome news but with that comes the challenging tours.
We told him he could choose up 3 schools to do in person tours! A few weeks ago we took the Amazing BMW 530e to tour Liberty University, here are some moments and why the BMW 530e is Hybrid Power at its best!

Performance x Fuel Efficiency
We had a 5+ hour trip ahead of us, so fuel efficiency was definitely a super plus!
Not only were we able to hit 48 City and 37 Hwy, but we were also able to head there only filling up near the destination.
We would have been able to get there with one tank if it wasn’t for traffic and delays.
Also so cool, that when we drove a long distance, the car offered the option of taking a break!
First time I’ve seen that as an alert in a vehicle.
The BMW 530e does o-60 in 5.7 seconds and sports the M Series badge. in case you don’t know, M stands for Motorsport which also means higher performance!
I don’t know about you, but fuel efficiency always meant sacrificing on performance and engine rumble to me – well, no more!
The BMW 530e changed everything I knew about Hybrids and it was love at first sight!
Let me share a quick story with you: I went to Germany 25 years ago and fell in love with the brand, bought a 3 series in 2009, it was a dream come true. That’s why when we had the opportunity to check out this awesome ride up close, it was a super special experience for more reasons than I can explain.
We arrived at the Campus ready for opening party and formal check in right on time!
Tech
So many favorites already shared but the car asking us if we would like to stop for coffee was the best!
Camera
The awesome camera on the dash gave us the additional safety features from get go.
Some of the University’s Parking spots were somewhat challenging and arriving at night, didn’t leave us with a lot of options, so it was great not to have to second guessed ourselves, having the best view!

Hybrid Life
We were happy to see that the campus had several electric charging stations, so in between meetings/classes all we had to do is find one and charge it!
Plus the parking spots for the electric vehicles were all super prime spots, so we scored twice while driving the BMW Hybrid!
The only issue was that our charging card was for a different chain, so in that case you have to create an online account for that specific company to be able to charge the vehicle.
Beautiful Inside & Out
Now that we’re about to become empty nesters and being so young, we have been looking for a vehicle that reflects our environmental concerns, not compromising performance, as I’ve mentioned before.
That’s why the BMW 530e is one of the first contenders for our next ride!
Let’s look at the lines and style:
Love how the grill opens up and extends to the headlights, it’s like the car is “smiling” at you!
The blue color (Phytonic Blue Metallic) is just gorgeous!
The trunk is very spacious and the lines in the back compliment the modern and functional design!
The interior offered premium Leather Seats:
Our first visit to Business School at Liberty University was definitely more special with this great ride!
Rain or shine, performance at it’s best!

The library is gorgeous, it made me want to go back to College!
The Freedom Tower stands on Campus as a symbol of our freedom to pursue excellence in education having a faith based foundation!
We had a chance to go up to the top during the day and checked out the breathtaking campus view, too large to fit in my phone lenses:
The Lobby reflects the history of Christianity with multiple bibles from centuries ago along with the words that summarize the university’s philosophy:

My son attended a session and two classes at the The Business School at Liberty:
He was fortunate to be visiting along with high school classmates who also came to check the university out!
The visit was actually a three day event the university offers for parents and students to experience the university and test drive it before making a decision!
Some of them grew up together, such a great opportunity that they may be going to college together!
The Cafeteria was the place for the boys.
Overwhelmed with all the food choices! Everything from burgers to Hibachi, included in their meal plan!
Next year they will have an even bigger and better one!
This is just one side of it. They offer more than 20 small restaurants on campus, no need to leave!

He was amazed to see how awesome the gym and all the sports stadiums and courts were!
A whole new world and he can play intramural sports as well!
Very excited to announce that while I was finishing this article, my son chose to commit to Liberty School of Business with a minor in Entrepreneurship, after he had been accepted by 10 prestigious universities with grants and scholarships!
I think the choice already looks good on him, doesn’t it?
After Covid, learning at home and some other disappointments in the past year, the opportunity is a breath of fresh air and a door to new and better things!
My hopes and dreams for him is that he takes advantage of the amazing education they provide and make life long memories there!

Very beautiful car. Wonderful to have that combination of performance and fuel economy. And to have it a plug in is a bonus.
I drive a Toyota Prius. Great economy, but lacking somewhat in performance.
