You probably wonder how to cook every night, having a busy lifestyle, right?
Eating healthy, having a busy lifestyle it’s a daily effort for me!
You know how much I travel, how busy I am with my business and our family commitments, but living a healthy lifestyle is extremely important for me, for us as a family!
So I work on living a healthy lifestyle one day at a time, forgiving missteps and days when I don’t feel like cooking, but anticipating those pitfalls, is the key to give you a higher chance to succeed!
Let’s get to it!
How To Eat Healthy On A Busy Schedule
Anticipate Failure
If you’re busy like me, you know some crazy busy days will come and you won’t feel like cooking.
Some days will come, when you stay late at your kids’ games, all you want to do is roll fast to the nearest drive through window! Been there, done that!
Solution: Anticipate super busy days and prep ahead, here is how I do it:
I look ahead at our week’s schedule on Sunday and plan accordingly.
My son has a basketball game, I have a late client, crock pot or slow roasting will be my best friends. I will be sharing my favorite healthy crock pot recipes soon! Stay tuned … but for now …
Here is a great Brazilian recipe, full of flavor, just a few ingredients thrown in the crock pot.
You can make a low fat feijoada version by using chicken sausage and removing the bacon.
A vegetarian feijoada version by using beef broth instead of water for added flavor and remove the meat items on the list!
No matter what lifestyle you choose, feijoada is still a great option for Winter and Spring busy nights! Grab the recipe HERE.

Meal Planning
I must confess, I’m a work in progress when it comes to that, but for me, it’s all about looking at dishes ahead of time and making a list which includes ingredients needed.
I make my mental list of recipes and buy the items needed on Sunday, to ensure no excuses will sabotage my eating healthy plans.
My list usually includes tomatoes, lettuce, fresh herbs, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli and brussel sprouts.
I’ve come to the conclusion, that having those items in the fridge, fresh and ready to go, maximizes my chance to come up with a last minute recipe too!
Research
We felt we were doing everything to eat healthier. But while my weight was coming down, my son was still hungry at night after our meals…
Deciding to look for help to find out what decisions were the right ones was the best option for us!
Weight Watchers recently gave me the tools I needed.
You won’t believe how many items were removed from my pantry, as well as snacks with loaded in points, that I thought were super healthy!
I recommend you find a plan that works for you and add that knowledge to your on-going efforts to live a healthier life!
Upgrade Your Kitchen
Nobody gets excited to cook on an old, failing stove and oven that burns everything, right?
My next step is to upgrade my stove! There’s nothing really bad, besides the burning part, but I think we’re really ready for a new one!

Two years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. One of the first things I had to learn was healthy eating takes time and planning! We are such a on-the-go society on the more that we easily fall into the convenience-meal trap. I cook from scratch daily, even when I’ve had a busy day and I’m tired. In the long run, it’s worth the extra little effort…
