We were invited by Nissan to attend the #NissanSummerCamp Event in Lake Saranac, NY, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
Every great road trip starts with a great and safe ride, right? So before I show you our favorite spots to visit in the Lake Saranac area, I will share my favorite features and what we loved about the 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum Turbo,
Nissan Rogue Platinum Turbo
We started by pairing it side by side with our 2020 Rogue.
The exterior redesign in 2021 brings the more modern and updated look I personally love!
You can check out more thoughts on the 2021 redesign HERE.
Exterior Favorites
Love the Orange/Black Two Toned Exterior!
The rear bumper with the black tone gives it a sportier look, don’t you agree?
Door Upgrade – the skirt is extended to avoid getting your leg/clothes dirty, when you take your car to new muddy, rainy & snowy adventures.
Interior Favorites
Love the premium feel of the Platinum with leather, stitching and wood grain across the dash board & stitching on the seat.
Also love the extra storage under the center console
Also immediately noticed the front row leg room, which gives the driver and front row passenger a more comfortable ride. Also drivers/passengers like my son who’s 6’9″, the room they need.
The drive mode gives you three options to fit your journey:
Eco, Standard and Sport
Window shades are a big new feature for us, especially if you have kiddos who want to sleep during your road trip. My son is a teen who’s also photo sensitive, so this feature is a new positive addition to our beloved Rogue.
Ambient Lighting
Love the lights adding to that premium feel
Tech Favorites
Love the 12″ Digital Dashboard and the Bose Premium Audio System.
Also love how the map and other updates show on the dash, which offers a fully customizable view with more features than I can describe.
Heads up display is also an upgrade from our Rogue version.
Bose Premium Sound System gives your road trip that gives our special sound track, the additional fun factor.
USB Ports allowed me to plug all devices without issues, another plus to us tech lovers.
Also love the climate control and the USB ports in the back, another plus upgrade from our Rogue!
The Wireless charger is a bonus that I love, since we want to have full power when we visit our favorite places and make memories we want to keep through our pictures. Love that it fits my Iphone 13 Pro.
Heated Zero Gravity seats, heated steering wheel are also favorites.
The 90 degree opening door angle is an awesome feature that allows you to haul kiddos & passengers in and out and pack your Rogue in and out of your next adventure without having the door in the way.
Trunk lock gives us the ability to lock the vehicle, an extra feature added which we didn’t have on ours.
We also did a walk through the Pathfinder, Even though we didn’t drive it, we had a chance to see some of the new upgrades in that vehicle as well.
We loved the button on the back seats, which allows you to go in and out easier.
The ability to remove the center console in the back and fit long cargo and width allows you to carry plywood and sheetrock without having it sideways.
The roomy and tech loaded vehicle left us wanting to spend more time checking everything out up close.
Now let’s take a look at our Road Trip to Lake Saranac, here are our must see spots in the area.
Exploring Saranac Lake Area With The Nissan Rogue
Surrounded by lakes, the Lake Saranac Area is a destination if you love hiking, nature and water fun!
Lake Placid area offers a bubbly shopping area, coffee shops and restaurants surrounded by other lakes such as the Mirror Lake which even has a beach area in the center of town.
Mirror Lake
Lake Placid
Lake Placid is also the home of the Winter Olympics Sports training, so the jumping center and the Olympics Sports Complex are a fun stop.
Hotel Saranac
We first saw it from our boat cruise, standing majestic full of stories and mysteries waiting to be explored!
The Hotel Saranac was the set for numerous ghost shows, so it was a must stop for me, a horror and ghost show fan!
We parked our Rogue to check it out!
The hotel lobby gives you the history and paranormal clues of how the building is a standing witness to the location’s history.
Mountain View
We cruised the narrow roads and mountains for a change of scenery. You know I’m a nature lover, right?
The wild life and mountains are just breathtaking, the Rogue Turbo showed its performance and was a great ride to explore the ins and out of the Saranac area, which usually only the locals see!
We stopped by Kiwassa Lake for a break!
Lake Flower Boating Adventures at Nissan Summer Camp
Back at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge, we enjoyed the nissan summer camp at its best with a nice two hour cruise through local lakes.
They offer pontoon boats, kayaks, paddleboarding, fishing and so much more! It is water fun at its best!
Hubby had a preview of coming attractions of our move to live the lake life when the time comes and we buy our own boat!
So beautiful, we could have stayed all day!
Our Hotel, The Saranac Waterfront Lodge was beautiful and quiet, yet offering the boating, pedaling, lake front seating with S’mores, dining at the boat house and so much more.
Let me just give you a first look at the breathtaking view of Saranac Lake Waterfront Lodge.

These features look really great. I, too, enjoy that two-tone exterior and am always shocked when a car looks even bigger on the inside than on the outside!
