I’ve received the Nissan Sentra for review purposes, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
You know how much I love a nice set of wheels with the engine rumbling, but gas prices are making me rethink my priorities. Today I’m going to share a few reasons why The Future Is Electric.
The Future Is Electric
Fuel Prices
The first obvious reason is that I don’t like being held hostage by fuel prices to determine how, where and what I do with my life.
We love taking road trips and traveling nearby, but the gas prices have been preventing us from doing what we love!
The electric vehicles solve that problem. My only concern, like many of you is the lack of/limited amount of fast charging stations. So traveling will require a bit of planning, but so what?
You can check out my Nissan Leaf review here, hopefully I will be driving the Ariya soon!
I had a chance to drive to Brooklyn to watch the Formula E event, driving the Nissan Sentra, which offered amazing fuel economy! We were able to get 46.3 mpg on the highway! Impressive, for a compact non-hybrid/electric vehicle!
Focus on fuel efficiency has been a pillar of Nissan’s values, way before gas prices reached the stratosphere!
Formula-E
Let’s talk about Formula-E ( electric vehicles race).
In Brooklyn, Nissan had a consumer experience, sharing the benefits of driving an electric vehicle and why the future is electric!
Hubby and I stayed for a watch party to enjoy the Formula E race! Yes, to watch electric vehicles racing!
The Nissan vehicle was doing great until an accident involving multiple vehicles, due to rain which ultimately stopped the race.
Here are some of the reasons why the future is electric:
Convenience
How about installing a L1 or L2 charge outlet at your home and having your EV charged overnight/in just a few hours?
Maintenance Costs
One of the advantages of buying an electric car is the significantly lower maintenance cost.
Electric motors have fewer moving parts than gas engines, making them simpler to maintain and likely to last longer.
Noise Pollution
A little-known fact about electric cars is that they create less noise pollution than gas vehicles.
The amount of noise which comes from an electric motor is significantly quieter than an internal combustion engine and its exhaust system.
In fact, there have even been concerns from safety campaigners about EVs being too quiet, can you imagine that?
I will take quiet any day!

The Ariya 2023 is projected to be available in the fall 2022.
A fuel efficient/hybrid vehicle is the next best thing, so let’s take a look at my ride to Brooklyn! The Nissan Sentra:
Nissan Sentra 2.0 SR CVT
Fuel Efficiency
Even though it is posted as 39mpg highway, we were able to hit 46.3mpg while driving the Sentra!
With that kind of fuel efficiency, who wouldn’t want to drive?
Fun & Sporty
The fun and sporty design invites us to hop in and take it for a drive!
Love the color combination! Black & Silver is so classic!
Also love the front lights and overall design which reminds me of sports car.
The signature V-Motion grille and LED headlights are available on the top-level SR trim.
For me, it looks sharp, well defined, a true head turner in all aspects, appearing far more expensive than its budget suggests.
The Spacious trunk is definitely a plus in the compact vehicle!
Great Price
MRSP at $27,270.00 for this vehicle .
The taillights and rear bumper also look sharp and give us that nice, sporty feel to match the 2.0 L, 4 cylinder engine!
The interior is also trendy and sporty – love the three large fan-like vents in the middle of the center stack, with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system above it and a climate-control panel below it.
There is also an option for an 8.0-inch touchscreen on the higher trim levels.
The cabin is filled with nicer materials at higher trim levels.
There are options for leather and quilted seats that can be heated, which is what we had!
All that just further enhances the Zero Gravity seats which are a personal favorite!
Lastly, more engine, means more power – more power means more fun and no compromise, right?
The perfect ride for all occasions
This was the first time we went to the NYC area since the pandemic and can’t wait to be back.
We loved having a vehicle which is perfect for city parking!
We also loved the fuel economy and the ride to Maryland to enjoy a boat day with some friends!
Can’t wait to hear what you think of our cool ride and adventures!

As usual, give us a Trendy Shout!
