This post was brought to you in partnership with Sivan Social, but as usual, all opinions are my own.
This year, more than ever, I’m making a goal for December to get moving and take steps to make fitness a habit! I have a friend who is doing the same, and while they have their womens co-ord sets ready and waiting they don’t know how to start like I do!
Today I will share some of the steps:
Making Fitness A Habit
Home Workout
Gyms are requiring masks, some have several restrictions.
I don’t feel comfortable to workout with a mask anyway, so we’ve added a few new items to our home gym, so we would have no excuses but to keep moving!
You can see what my home gym looked like before we upgraded, click HERE.
Check the new upgraded version out:
Make sure to have an efficient home gym, you should add a cardio option, weight lifting and have mat space for yoga, abs and other activities which require space. If you’re new to home workouts, learn when to use wrist straps and other safety equipment and keep them all handy so that you never hurt yourself or suffer from a bad injury.
Also make sure your flooring is workout friendly. We’ve bought some workout mats and some of them are placed on top of the rugs for maximum floor protection!
Make it fun!
I have a TV with subscriptions and a Spotify friendly device to avoid boredom from sinking in!
I recently found out that Amazon has a fitness app, within the prime video option, so I can’t wait to check it out!
Let’s Go Outside
Why not enjoy the outdoors before it gets too cold outside and go for a hike, enjoy the view and an awesome workout! When it comes to outdoor fitness, playing your favorite sports can be a good idea too. You might need to take a few badminton or tennis lessons, or any single or double-player sport you like, and get started with it.
We have a creek and 5 mile trail at walking distance from my home, so I’ve made a personal goal to hit the trail once a week! Plus, there are tonnes of wild berries that I can eat on the hike! I had to look on campingfunzone.com to make sure I didn’t eat any poisonous berries but once I knew what each type was, I knew it was safe to try them!
Kayaking
The water makes me happy, so before the 40 degree temps creep in, we’re using our kayaks in a local lake. Why not? Temperature has been pretty mild where I live so…..
Above all, when talking about outdoors, do what makes you happy!
Boost Your Metabolism
While moving is essential to a healthy lifestyle, studies show that good nutrition and water intake are the most important steps towards seeing real changes!
So I’ve decided to try new things this month as well as raising the bar concerning water intake!
I will be sharing more about that, along with recipes soon!
Fitness Gear
I don’t know about you, but I have totally slowed down my obsession in buying new workout gear every month!
But I’ve decided in December to upgrade my outfits and grab some favorites from Athleta Click HERE for more!
Check them out:
Elation Printed Tight – The fabric is so beautiful and buttery soft with support that feels like a gentle hug! I love how the Three-layer unpinchable waistband smooths and supports
Double Cozy Karma Recover Jogger – Layering up to and from the gym or studio workouts. It gives me the perfect feel, when I’m working from home or hiking on the trails! Fabric is ultra soft and comfortable!
Conscious Luxe Lace Crop A-C – Love the color! Perfect all year long! The fabric is buttery soft with support that feels like a gentle hug. Crop silhouette keeps me breezy during my practice!
Pranayama Wrap – To and from the studio, and life off the mat! Love the soft fabric and side pockets to stash my essentials!
Cozy Karma Asym Pullover – For Hiking, climbing and exploring on the trail or off. Cozy fabric has a plush interior but my absolute favorite feature is that the Wrap front detail has a high-low hemline that flatters my form
Can’t wait to hear which one is your favorite!
Take advantage of the savings and click HERE to grab yours!
This holiday, give yourself the gift of health, while looking amazing!!!!
Let’s make fitness a habit together!

Great post! It love working out and I am glad it became a habit! I don’t have a home fitness, which would be nice during this pandemic. But I have invested in good resistance bands to work out at home. They take less space and the investment is low.

You did a great job adding equipment to your home gym. Staying fit during the pandemic is very important for both our physical and mental health.

Such comprehensive and well-rounded tips for keeping fit.I love the indoor and outdoor components. I spend as much time as possible outside, but for this winter, I do need to revisit my homework area. Thanks for the tips.

Ice Cream n Sticky Fingers
I wish that I could get out and exercise more. But my hip and low back, don’t like it when I do. I’m in TX and I love nature and outdoors. We just don’t have any places that have easy trails to hike that’s like being out in the middle of the woods. I dream of being in the mountains of Colorado. It’s always been my favorite place to visit and I have been wanting to go for years. But the reality is, I just don’t think I could hack actually doing what I loved at one point, walking the trails, playing in the freezing cold river.
When I used to workout more, music was always my best motivator.

I would like to make fitness a habit. But it’s not easy at all. Maybe your tips will help!

I’ve been doing more home works out. This is very inspiring.

Work out amid nature is refreshing. I miss that now. I liked all your tips and you look so fit and smart. I like the gym too.

Wow I love your gym! I wish I had a cardio option, there’s a gym in my building but it’s closed rn with the pandemic and I can’t fit anything into my apartment. So I’m just hoping its over soon haha

This fitness outfit is really nice! I can’t wait to start my fitness journey. too!

You look fabulous!
I don’t have a home gym even we have ample space to use for that. But our community got this outdoor playground that can be used to do our workout as well. And I love long walks!
Beth
It looks like you have a great set up! I need to be better about working out.
Nile Flores
There’s just no excuse any more these days, for anyone to avoid exercise. Even 15-30 minutes a day is better than nothing, and you don’t have to have special expensive equiment. I’ve been finding a lot of floor exercise and light weight training videos on Youtube, and it’s inspired me to start a regular regimen again.
Stephanie Stebbins
I love getting outside in Autumn. Great tips, thanks!
Kathy
I need to get back in to doing fitness more often. I was doing great for a long time and then with all that has been going on I just kinda stopped. I still get some exercise in, but need to work on it more.
Sandy N Vyjay
The best way to fitness is to inculcate a fitness regimen into your lifestyle. I love going outdoors, but on bad weather, days have arrangements indoors so that the regime is not affected.

Hi Claudia,
i love and (and envy) you on your home gym. Looks really great while all I have are some dumb dumbbells:)
Anyhow, also love the goal of making December a fitness month, though I think that every month should be fitness month.
Bodies that move a lot are healthy bodies. Healthy bodies=healthy people.
Agree?

You really made your place workout friendly. Great tips, thanks.

I am a former AT but now I’m a SAHM of a two year old and a two month old. My workouts have definitely changed since I no longer work at a gym with all my favorite equipment and I am now sometimes using a toddler as added weight lol but I still get it done. Once a habit, always a habit!

I am making a big effort to get in shape before the New Year. Your home gym and fitness attire is so nice and must help you to work out.

This is such a great post. I feel so much better now that I’ve made it a point to work out every day and eat right. I keep myself motivated to do my cardio by having my PS4 set up in front of the treadmill.
Pam Wattenbarger
I was going for a lot of hikes in national and state parks in our area until it turned cold. I need to add a home gym.
